Default breather and maybe stupid question

There are 2 breather holes per tappet cover....why 2?

Why are there 2 block vent holes?

The loss of oil on track days are driving me crazy, and its coming from the tappet cover holes.

1 on each side is used to tie the two sides as well as one port in the middle together. My guess would be to equalize pressure is why they did it.

Ya, the lower port connects together with 1 port on each valve cover in a t formation. The bigger port on the top is what usually connects to the pcv valve.

One hole on each valve cover goes to the pcv system on the back of the block and is baffled. The other hole on each valve cover is unbaffled and runs between each side of the motor and the middle crankcase vent to equalize pressure as stated above.

only the Ej255,Ej257 and EJ207 have this.
