Default Anyone know where to get an EJ20?

Hey guys, im planning on doing an EJ20 engine swap...I had a site all planned out and made negotiations with the owner for a EJ20 30k mile 6spd Clip for only 6 grand. Well i was checking back and the site seems to be dead and the price has a raised a crapload for more miles and no 6spd! Does anyone know where to get a EJ20 for under 6 grand, with or without a 6spd? Any info would be great help, Thanks a lot guys.
Peace,
Galen

Assuming you mean EJ20T, as delivered in the US WRX, check with Octagon Auto (www.octagonauto.com). Currently they are suposed to have about 14 WRX engines in the yard, and I was told they will go for about 3k with wiring harness, though I'm not sure how much of the accesories (alternator, radiator, etc, etc...)equipment you get for 3k.

Might be worth a look

Are you refering to a twin turbo engine? What did you put it in?

This would be the first TT swap in a US Subaru that I've ever heard of, unless I misunderstood you. More details, please

I've got a '96 L.The twin turbo set up would not fit so I removed the left one,I made my own wiring harness, installed a S-AFC,had Titan motorsports fab' a lovely exhaust, and it's running great.
Alan
Sounds easy,NO,all this took about 3 months.

Sorry for the slow responses guys...ive been in San Diego for a few days...Yea i used to have a hookup earlier in the year with Infinite, sounded great, quick responses. After i checked back in with them about a week ago, NO RESPONSE, and the engine price went up 2g, and the engine had 20k more miles than it used to, and it didnt include a 6spd. I now am hooked with swapjdm.com. If anyone has anything bad to say, let me know. So far ive gotten quick response emails with tons of details and willingful help. a GREAT deal. $5800 for a '02 STi engine w/ 6spd.(and the neccesary swap equipment-ecu,wiring harnesses, etc). And to answer SKYWALKER's Q, yes i have a guy about 20min away from me who is willing to install and help me build a '95 L AWD into a pure-speed-fun-control,etc car. heh. He offered to put in a turbo into a 2.5rs and give me 500+hp, as he has a RS-T w/ 600hp, but id rather have the EJ20, which is built for power, not forced. I might push the boost to get like 320hp...but after that u just get some high revving and great drag which isnt too much fun after a while, and if you can go 220mph in a civic, would u really even dare to? =). for fun and rally 320hp at 2820lb should be pretty gosh darn(censored) fast! heh. Probably take down most ferraris. Thanks again for all your responses, and feel free to keeping critizing or adding suggestions. or if you want to personalize it, email me at sinful-boarder@attbi.com . thanks guys...take care.
Peace,
Galen

There is NO way this is an '02. $5800 is waaaay too good to be true. Be sure to verify every claim they are making, get it in writing, double check all VIN and engine numbers, check it out in person, etc...

They sound like another Infinite with that type of price. The 6 speed alone should cost that much, but look into it. Make sure you pay with a credit card. Also keep in mind that it should take some fairly heavy modding to get the 6 speed to fit into a "GC8" chassis. Let us know how it goes, I'm still looking for the right STi.

Alright, well i dont think i really want an 02 anyways...and if the 6spd doesnt fit, why not sell it? =). Will the engine itself fit into a 95 L AWD? Theyre all GC8 framed, correct? Was i correct about turning the boost up? Would i need reinforcements, etc? If i get a 95 L AWD, theres no front kit, so where would i get the kit for the front bumper that the STi VI uses, so i can use that lip and get the effect...basically i want mine to look like a STi VI. Does anyone know the if EJ20 all has the same specs...ive heard varies and ive heard theres differently tuned engines sold as a EJ20, when its a whole 'nother ball park. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...thanks again for quick responses...

Galen

EJ20 comes in anywhere between 125hp(JDM 91 legacy NA) to 320hp(02 S202) stock.
You really need to specify which EJ20 you are talking about.
STi version 6 is EJ207, which is the same code as 02 STi.

$650 for ej20s.

stis are not worth the extra price because they are just some real nice forged pistons with a more aggressive tuning. for the price of an STi engine you can buy a normal JDM WRX engine and stroke it with even better forged internal parts than the STi has(and it wont just be forged pistons). then manage it with something like a Link2 and you are good to go.

They are completely different motor but the code is the same.
Integra GSR has B18C and typeR has B18C too (right?) but it is different motor, similar thing is happening.

not trying to flame
but integra GSR is actually B18C1 or C2, and Type R is B18C5, so there's actually a difference, yeah, basic code is the same, but the stuff after that should be different right?

sinful,

Sounds like you found Johnny or Joel or Bret - they can build you a fast car for sure... Maybe more like 400hp 2.5L though, not 500+ I don't think, well not in your budget...
