Default AccessPORT Firmware Update for 2.0-liter Subaru AP-SUB-001

COBB Tuning has just released a major firmware update for All AccessPORTs part number AP-SUB-001 for 2002-2003 and 2004-2005 WRXs. This update repairs two minor bugs with the AccessPORT; adds new functions and streamlines menu screens. This update includes all v2 and v2b units with both AccessPORT versions now on the same firmware version: 1.6.0.0-12994, all "BETA" versions have been consolidated into this update.

This release fixes two bugs that were unique to the AP-SUB-001 AccessPORTs. Slowdown associated with extensive use has been eliminated, also, ECU identification errors have been resolved.

Additional Features have been added to the AccessPORT v2 to bring it up to date with the v2b with the addition of the Absolute Pressure, Barometric Pressue and Fuel economy data monitors. The "about" screen on both v2 and v2b has been simplified for easier interpretation and support and the "Change Map" feature has been updated for both units to give an explanation for any gray-out "locked-out" maps.

This update is available immediately through AccessPORT Updater and requires no other updates to maps or tuning software be performed. Further information can be found on our Firmware Information Page.

It connects on my other laptop. Strange.

Off topic question:
Why cant I have 2 race tuner programs on 1 laptop? 2 cars 2 access ports and I happen to have 2 laptops. Rather inconvenient.

EDIT:

More problems. Got the map on the access port went to flash the car and is said it cannot connect to the ecu. It reset the ecu fine but keeps saying the green test code connectors aren't connected which they are.

Connected white 4 pin connector.
Connected green test connectors.
The screen then told me to cycle the key.
Then cycle the key again.
Then its not connected, retry.

It has never told me to cycle the key twice...

no 16 bit ECU's have launch control from cobb. If none of the maps on their webbsite for your car say LC next to the name, doesn't work.

Pretty sure 04 wrx's are 16 bit, if that's the case you will have to do the tinywrx patch through the opensource community to get launch control.

How to add LC to non LC enabled cobb maps

I thought cobb was going to release it very soon. Then they came out with this new update so I thought it may. Another reason is if you select "adjust maps" you can select idle rpm, retard timing, and now LC rpm. Now I set the LC to 3200 rpm, presses ok and it did a lil loading thing to the ecu. I then press the clutch in and floor it but it just wants to rev.

How does it work for the 32bit ecu's? do you have to hit the cruise or defog button, or just push the clutch in a floor it?

my understanding of the 32 bit LC is that it uses the clutch switch (which 16 bit's do not have wired to the ECU) to trigger a lower redline when the clutch is not fully engaged.

I don't know anything about defog button pushing.

^ funny... on my 05 WRX there is a clutch switch that sits in front oof the clutch pedal. When pressed in, the switch it released, when depressed, the switch is engaged. If you look under your dash, there should be 2 types of switches. One is connected to nothing and looks like a button with a spring, the other above it is a switch attached to a box that has wires coming out the back side. If clutch switch is the case, then my 05 has it.

all manual subarus have a clutch switch so you can't start the car without the clutch disengaged, but ONLY 32-bit and CAN-BUS subarus have this switch connected to the ECU
