Hi guys, the time has come to sell my wifes car. We bought it in 2004 with 28k miles on it. Its a 98 automatic with 122k on it currently. She mainly used it to commute to school for the past couple years which is a 75 mile roundtrip 4 days a week. We've been meticulous about keeping it in clean condition inside and out. Its always been parked away from other vehicles in a parking lot during our entire ownership and it shows. There are only 2 small dings on the car in its 12 year old life- 1 on driver and 1 on pass door. It is wearing all original paint except for the pass fender where some moron backed into the fender and made a dent. I replaced the entire fender. The other spot is the passenger side rear quarter panel where some rust developed at the seam of the bumper. We had it repaired a couple years ago, however rust is peaking through again. The car has never been in an accident. The RS is 100% stock with the exception of a Kenwood cd player and speakers and 20% window tint on the back 3 windows. I've done most of the maintenance work on it myself. Major maintenance points of interest are the replacement of: water pump, timing belt, tensioners, front main seal, all cam seals, all brake pads, all brake rotors, oem coolant w/flush & conditioner, solenoid "C" in transmission, clutch discs in center diff, coil, plugs/wires, fuel and air filters. I've used OEM parts for 95% of work done. I've never had an issue with headgaskets. All fluids have been replaced at scheduled intervals - diffs, trans, oil etc. A/C blows cold, there are no weird smells in the car. Seats, headliner, and interior show little to no wear. The car has not been debadged. The wiring has never been hacked or modified. I run snow tires on WRX wheels in the winter and summer tires on the gold RS wheels in summer.

Now this car is not gonna appeal to the guy who's looking for a cheap shell to throw a motor in to. I have no doubt this car will sell to someone who appreciates originality and an unmodified chassis. It would be a great car to drive as is or to swap a WRX or STI drivetrain into. Anyone who has built a car from the ground up will know how much EASIER it is to start with a super clean car. The reason I'm selling it is because it just isnt practical for our family any more being a coupe with no fold down seats. We have an 03 WRX and I just picked up a 01 Impreza Outback to replace the RS. I have a feeling I'll be kicking myself in 5 years for selling this car as the 2.5RS are getting harder and harder to find in nice condition.

The only issues that I'd like to bring up are: occasional rattle from heatshield on catalytic converter, shocks are original-although car drives fine, small rust forming on quarter panel (see pic below), and lastly the summer tires are about 4 or 5 years old and they are noisy. They have good tread but are getting old and noisier each summer when I remove the winters to install the summer tires.

yes I do. How much do you think is alot of money for one? I have a couple MR2's I'm getting rid of. Trying to thin out my collection.

swap it! Think of how solid the chassis is since it was never driven hard being an auto!
