The Id of those lines are the standard 1/2 as seen on the factory v. Covers. Unless I'm missing something they shouldn't be an issue

When I get my Subaru WRX STi (probably next year sometime) I want to swap out the stock turbo for a GT40R (and all the little upgrades that are needed with it to ensure the car remains strong and reliable and pulls like a monster) and was wondering how much (ballpark) this would cost?

Would it make the car as fast as this one? Especially if I bought super lite wheels and an upgraded exhaust?

Could this all be done for around $6,000-$8,000?

6-8k not even close.
i doubt that it would even cover the short-block needed for that kind of power.

then there's fuel system, heads, cams, turbo kit.

Well, if I added the GT40R turbo, what exactly would I need to upgrade in addition with it? Or, for the price I'm looking at, is that just too big a turbo to work with?

How does the GT40R compare to the VF22, 18G, and 20G? Of these three turbo listed here, which provides the most powerful boost and what's the difference between them?

My price range for an aftermarket Turbo & upgrades is right around $6-$8K (to make my car be able to function as a realiable daily driver). Could I make it work with one of these turbos here?

I'm new to Turbos, but I figure I could ride around on low boost during daily driving, but when I'm ready to haul ass, just crack it up to max boost. Is that how it usually works? Also, I was hoping I could control the boost level from within the car. Is that realistic? I just want to be able to push a botton and have my boost level highered or lowered according to what I want to put out.

Gt40 and a 18g or 20g is no where close to each other....6-8k in upgrades let's say 10k get a rotated turbo kit and build a block...stock heads your going to need bigger injectors..fuel pump etc...to control the boost level consider buying a turbosmart eboost2 gauge

My lord.....yes..

You will spend 12-15k.

It also will last 5-10k miles....

So start saving after you save the initial 15k.
