IMO that's the way to handle this. Clarify for all what is/isn't allowed and move on. I think he overdid it but as far as I can tell it wasn't blocking.

It looked like Lewis was trying to shake him out of his slipstream, not block. Either way, it needs to be dealt with.

I love Webbo but he's got no legs to stand on when it comes to criticizing another driver for excessive weaving and blocking.

Rubens on the other hand is about as clean and fair as they come.

If I remember right there are regulations in place limiting the number of times you can weave to block another driver coming from behind in a straight whether you are side by side or not. IMO its a fine line between blocking and moving the slipstream around but it makes for interesting racing if it doesn't get to out of control.

There is a regulation about making a move, but it is generally considered to be in force under braking. It does not specifically state anything about being on a straight (it is also rather ambiguous.) But still, as seen by many drivers this year (Massa in Australia, Hamilton at Malaysia) it is not really enforced. The only time it is really enforced is if the car is already alongside and you move into them.

I agree with many, I don't think Lewis blocked at all. He was trying to break the draft. He moved first, Petrov moved to follow him. Not sure how that is blocking.

whether it was blocking or not, weaving is frowned upon in F1 and always has been.

Yes, right, exactly. Weaving is not proper in most any racing series, hence the "Forumula Ford" comment by one of the other drivers...

I don't think the FF comment makes much sense, I've seen what Hamilton does happen a lot in different racing series. When you have ambigious rules, its bound to happen.

I agree, and I'm glad the stewards saw it as most of us did. Had Petrov picked a straight line and had to alter it due to Hami's druken line, then that may have merited a penalty.

Do practice engines count as part of the total number of race engines they are allowed to use?

Yes. They have 8 engines per season, and the teams usually change them before qualifying. They'll run the older engines in practice (this was the one which they had changed in Bahrain right before the race I believe), so blowups are expected, but its still concering.

Yes, it is, you can see the upright collapse on the left side easily just before everything explodes. Hopefully they fix it soon.
