..................and the latest : Fully built engine , HKS FMIC , 8 injectors , extrude honed intake manifold and many many other secret **** ! Most of the parts have been sitting around in my house for the past 10 months or so collecting dust waiting to be installed , as a matter of fact the IC was the first thing I got like 11 months ago . All part installed at my house except for engine and fuel system. All piping is custom built in my garage too
Now I gotta brake it in and tune it . Also currently waiting for new full dog tranny / brakes .

Nice What are you using for engine managment?

And also, do you have closer shots of the headlights and corners?

Thanks

Sweet ride

hehe thanks guys , well I'm taking it easy on everything right now since my car has been down for 11 months and another couple of weeks isn't hard anymore ! ECU is E6k and the turbo is a garret unit however the compressor housing is turbonetics , its a T3/To4E 50 trims with stage III turbine .63 A/R , This turbo will be replaced as soon as the my new bigger GT BB unit arrives . The turbo breathes through a custom cold air intake.

DJIMPREZA : Everyone has their day , yours will come soon too big time . For the connectors , I'll have to get the description for them since I didn't handle the fuel system except for the fuel rail .
Supra fuel pump is running the whole system but should be getting a direct 12V at about 400 HP's to support all the lines.
As far as the engine , its on the noisy side a little , no blow buy but did burn some oil in the first couple of hunderd miles and now has about 800 miles , but all built race engine will probably burn some oil .
My goals for this engine are not fully defined yet since there are many factors in the mix that arn't tested yet but I can assure you that it WON'T just be your regular high 12 sec. ride but something that will scare the hell out of F-bodys at the track.

Finally the tranny Will have to wait and see if the deal I'm working on will go through , will let you guys know how it goes but wil have stay hush for now , sorry .

Nice, just plain nice.

You going to flip that hood scoop around to suck out the hot air? Don't see much point in it, otherwise.

Excellent job on the buildup. I do have a question for you: For the custom turbo setup in the second picture, how did you get the location for the turbo? Right now I'm assuming custom up/down pipes, though did you utilize the turbo crossmember as well? When you say Legacy setup, does that mean you used the Legacy uppipe, as in the first picture?

Like it looks, that turbo is pretty large, and I'm curious how much boost lag you are getting. Care to share what your redline is on the car now?

I originally wanted to do that but its already been done by someone else and I didn't want it to seem like I copied him ( even ho he wan't the first to do it either), so I'm actually going for something more original , will post pictures once its here .

Graham: you're right about the legacy setup , turbo crossmemeber with WRX header and legacy uppipe . However for the second and third pictures , new uppipe was utalized to make the turbo sit where it is , in the third picture I had to move the turbo down and back to make space for the extra injectors bungs on the manifold . boost was coming on full at about 3200 on the stock engine and 2 1/2" DP , now with the built engine and 3" DP it'll probably be spooling quicker , however the new turbo coming in will be larger but BB so I don't know how that's going to work out . Also I'm still using a pretty small diameter uppipe which I suspect will be a limiting factor as well as the headers especially on the high end, but I'll dyno the car first and see what is doing and then decide if a bigger uppipe and different headers is the way to go . Pretty much the dyno sheet will tell everything that I need to make adjustments here and there , probably ignition too ??

NateDogg : tranny/diff stuff are in the works , will have to wait for a couple of months to clear up . Also the first step for attention I think is to get some good numbers on the dyno and track , however I'm already trying to get SCC and import tuner to come down and do a shoot , it looks like it'll happen in the next month or two .

Looks like some of the respectable Imprezas they have over in GB. Not too much flash, but enough to make it look good.

Which options are you running on your Haltech? If you don't mind I'd like to look at your map and compare it to mine sometime. Just email it to me, I've got my software running on my desktop too

Since you're going full dog are you going to use the flat shift switch for upshifting? I'd love to use that but I lack the strong tranny to be able to do it with. And where'd you put the intake air temp sensor on that set-up? Will you be using the Haltech to control an IC sprayer?

I'll have more toys to play with on my car plenty soon

RallyNavvie : I knew my haltech guys will start chiming in
Really right now I'm still running pretty much the same map as before this setup which isn NOT working out good at all (obviously !) but I'm more concerned now about breaking the engine in and working out all the little problems , However starting next monday the tuning will begin and I'll be more involved this time in the tuning process . I'd like to run closed loop and it'll be quite tricky now with two sets of different size injectors , I'll be very patient and will do a little tuning at a time till eventually hitting the AWD dyno for some fine tuning . So a final map will not be finished for a couple of weeks . I still have to get my own laptop and install the software . I'll be also making the e6k control the nitrous but not the sprayer since I have a seperate computer for that . about the flat shift switch (if we're talking about the same thing) that's have to wait for sure till another tranny is dropped in.
for the air temp sensor , it on the U-turn before the TB on the backside right before the nitrous nozzle .
good luck with your car too...will be talking some more to you about the e6k stuff once I start redoing the maps .

I presume if its a cobb engine, then you must have some serious short engine internals?

what compression did you go for?

and which GT turbo are you looking at?

external or internal wastegate?
