Default Best Dealer to get a Subaru in Bay Area

Where is the best place in the Bay Area to get a WRX? Is it in Carlsen Subaru in Redwood or in Santa Cruz Subaru? Which gives the best price? and do you think the would sell it at about $23,000 with like the Spoiler, Armrest and standard features?

Thumbs up

I will always go with Santa Cruz. The dealership is just the best, they treat you well every single day of the year.

Albany is no-BS either. They'll deal starting at $500 over invoice, and you can just walk in and say "I want to pay 300 over" and that's that. They don't try to screw you with anything like scotchgard or clearcoat protectant either.

my 2 cents.

I bought my WRX from Albany Subaru, and I got a good deal imho because I pre-ordered it back in February 2001, expecting that a pre-order would be pretty much a "sellers market" situation. I got somewhere between ivoice and msrp that time (don't remember how much).

They also have a nice service department. My experience with them since 1995 tells me that they do a good job.

I would recommend you to go to sites like autoweb.com or find the website of each subaru dealers in the Bay Area, and request for a quote; I'm doing that for the purchase of a second subaru, and I'm surpirsed how convenient it is, plus you don't really need to haggle until you narrowed down your list of dealers (which have the best deal).

On a site note, the people at Carlsen Subaru seem very nice also.

I like Carlsen Subaru because they give you one price, and its that simple. They charge $250 over invoice. I got my WRX sedan 5-speed for $23170 w/ the arm rest extension, turbo boost guage, and the upgraded security system.

One more Vote For Santa Cruz!

Awesome People, Morgan has even put up with all of my excited impatient phone calls, she is GREAT!!! They gave us a sweet price, even helped us order it from the factory, to save some $$$ instead of trying to push us to buy one off of the lot and have them install the options at a higher cost. The free basic maintenance is also a BIG plus...then again I live not to far away, and I even have way more fun roads than 17 to use when I go there! So far they are up in my top 3 list of dealers. Now if ya want to hear some shark'n horror stories about some other dealers...

*Mumbles* "slow ass truck drivers hurry up and get My wifes WRX on the LOT!"

Flat invoice from VIP program:

http://www.acanet.org/VIP.htm

Subaru offers this to a number of organizations like ACA, IMBA, etc. You just have to be a member for at least 6 months before taking advantage of it.

even though i got mine with no options for $23l at ALBANY, reason i would go to santa cruz is that they give you free oil changes for 3 years. plus a free loaner. dont know other dealers that give that benefit...

granted they are way out there, but the drive is nice...

Santa Cruz all the way. Their customer service just
begins at the sale. The follow up and though is amazing.
I have never heard any of the other dealers offer free
oil changes for 60k, free rental with paid service,
and discounts for people who bought from them. I would
also like to say that the employees there rock. Most of
them are bigger Subaru nuts than we are. I know that it
is a drive (I live in Fremont), but we all bought our
cars to drive the hell out of, right?

Thumbs up Ron Price Motors

Though I live in Marin, I bought in S.S.F. after going to several dealers and receiving unimpressive treatment. Santa Cruz was cool as was Carlsen but not being a mechanic myself, I picked the place with the best researched service dept. and asked them to match the $350. over invoice I was quoted from Carlsen and Santa Cruz. Steven's Creek was by far the WORST place I went followed closely by Bianco on my home turf. My salesperson was a lady/girl but she was knowledgable about the car and didn't waste my time.

I got my WRX for below invoice price from Stevens Creek Subaru. The salespeople there don't seem to be the best, but heck, if you know what you are looking for, just give them an offer and take the car.
