Forget about Ontario because for the past several weeks the Ontario Police Department has had a special 20-man task force out to put a stop to your weekend nocturnal 1/4 mile shenanigans.

Expect the enforcement to continue for as long as the tickets/fins pay for the 20 men, and helocopter they are using.

Upside of street racing in the Inland Empire is the sparse population, with roads that seemingly go nowhere, and relatively few police.

Down side of racing in the Inland Empire is roads in poor condition (very gravelly/ cracked) and that if a cop shows up, you will have nowhere to run. Police in some areas use dirtbikes as patrol vehicles!

Believe it or not, perhaps you should consider Crenshaw Boulevard (a 6-8 lane street in South-Central LA) I have yet to find a better place for stoplight racing. Usually there is not too much gunplay

Enforcement tends to be quite lax, few months back a few dozen cars were creating HUGE clouds of smoke doing burnouts in the parking lot at Ralphs. Not a policeman in sight.

The locals have lots of show, but very little go. Fog lights mounted on your suspension-- WTF?

Yea, Ontario has their own beat for the races now. Its gonna get hot this summer at the races and I don't mean the weather. They bumpin ticket fines up an additional 15%, actually they already started that. Its ok. I'll miss the races but now I run to where the drifters play. heheh... in the mountains! Hacienda Blvd.. Asuza canyon. Ughghghg...my scooby feels so much at home.

Attention street racers in the city of Los Angeles: The City Council has under consideration legislation that would allow POLICE officers to itcket spectators of drag racers, and impound the cars of participants.

It appears that they cannot do this now, but the may be able to soon.

Thumbs down

Man I used to love to go out there and watch some racin as well as do some myself, but now I don't see the use of it since the cops are just waiting to catch me slippin. So now I just hit the street and ride. It's fun but now the same. Thats way I want to come up with a nice solid plan.

Have a Nice Day?

There's no way you'd catch me out on Crenshaw for that circus and I'm Black.... Keep in mind I'm a die-hard LA hater, but I'm not going to take my "attention-getter" car out boppin' around on any street I saw immortalized in Boyz n' Da hood or heard about in a gangsta rap "tune"

Dude, you trippin. Heheh.. but thats cool. Thats your thing. And I'm gonna agree with you. But the thing is, when do you run into another racer in the canyons? I got bored of this quarter mile stuff awhile, but that doesn't mean I don't do it anymore. Plus I don't live around the corner from a nice ass road either or else I'd be there all the time. Anyways if peeps wanna drag their sube, I say go for it. They'll eventually grow out of it. Everyone starts somewhere. I've talked to alot of 'old-timers' and they all rag on the 1/4 mile racers. Thats baby ***** they say. All you need is money and a little bit of skill for the 1/4 mile they say. And its true to a certain extent. But they have real respect for people that have the skills to charge that canyon. I don't know why I'm even posting this, I'm agreeing with you. Well half the way at least.

Street racing is for crap - I think drag racing is more an excercise in setup and motor building than a display of driving skill or technique - both of Which are in terrifyingly short supply at those street races. I hear in the news occasionally about some Beavis getting killed while racing - How the hell do you "lose control" driving straight for 1320 feet? John Force losing it i can understand - but an Intergra? If you can't keep that off the guard rail...walk home.

It's just my pref, but I wish Subaru guys would stay away from that crap - I don't want us to be associated with that foolishness.

AK (Tyrmeltr) is the man - he does the stuff my wife won't let me do! Just don't crash and break my heart m'man!
