Alright guys so I have a predicament thought Id see if anyone wanted to chime in...

First off I am going to need some friends to help my with my perrin FMIC install

Secondly after that install, my current KStech 83mm Intake wont fit I will either need to swap out some pipes for this cai:

or go with a good old fashioned sri:

Lemme know what you guys think thanks!

Cai are pointless. All you need is a shorty and your set.

This is only true on a FMIC or AWIC setup. Agreed that in this case it is true. But, I just wanted to clarify. FMICs and AWICs do an awesome job at keeping intake temps close to ambient because they are usually never super-heated. So, CAIs don't really matter. However, with a TMIC that can absolutely get super-heated ... a CAI can lower intake temps by a fair amount.

^ Thats y I ask the experts...

On another note... Last night I drove to meet some friends at the comus inn in dickerson... when I parked I noticed my oil light flickering at me... freaked out I shut the car off and immediately checked the dip stick... BONE DRY... checked the underbody and everything was soaked with oil... Got it towed to IAG and so it has remained... they filled her up and cranked it and said the block is fine but now is to find out where and why its leaking... hopefully its a quick fix... if so, still takin volunteers for the FMIC install

Seriously doubt the block is fine but maybe you got lucky. There is absolutely no possible way that they can say the block is fine unless they take it apart. Simple as that. My guess is that some of the bearings got scored a little bit and you'll pay for it in the future when you spin a rod or main bearing too soon in the engine's life. JMHO.

Now that is why WE should have built it in the parking lot. Bet it wouldn't be losing oil then.

Yes thats possible... As my friend stated, maybe that block had 100k miles to go on it... you might now be at 80k miles but thats still alot better than losing the entire block right then and there. Luckily it wasnt run very long at all on low oil. It went from semi full to almost empty in like 15 minutes. According to IAG the oil looked fine and the block is running ok as of now so I think I did get lucky but that doesnt mean it went unscathed.

BTW it was due to a slight fold in the crank seal which eventually wore away and caused the leak so they covered it all for free.

don't worry about black hog, I have it on good authority that there will possibly be a new BBQ joint opening up Mid summer to late fall of 2011 in Frederick. It'll blow competition out of the water.

nando- Can you bring me some shiny (or dirty I don't really care) parts that I want when you come to the shop tomorrow? Text me if you don't know what I want.
