I am thinking about buying a Ludespeed Stage Turbo Kit
I have a 2000 RS. I would just like to know some information about any that has put one on. 1.How did it take to ship? 2.Did you have any trouble putting it on? 3.How did it take to put it on? 4Have you broke anythink with the kit on? 5. and any other comment that would help me decided on what to do thanks, Matthew

just ordered mine from Tom after about 6 month of reading and learning about turboing the 2.5L
try to contact Elliot, i know installed one on a 2002 like mine. you should probably get Stage II kit because of the top mount IC and your air scoop, i am sure it would be well worth it. make sure you get he fuel pump, J&S, gauges for fuel, and EGT. also make sure you read every single post on this forum!! |

rupteur7000 - which stage did you get? from all your research, how safe is it to run the stage 1 at low boost. like will it be fine for 10k? if I get a top mount ic, will it be just as reliable in the longterm as a stock car? because i want to keep my car as long as possible. i like mine more than the wrx.

even though the intercooler costs 700 more, it is worth it. and it makes the set up safer. as for tuning, you can get a link plus ecu for about 1500 bucks (about the same as an ITC, RRFPR, FPR, J&S, and the many gauges needed). with a laptop, you can have the gauge display out and it will show boost, knock, injector duty cycles and everything else you want to know. this may seem like a lot of money to you but there is no real way to do cheap forced induction. also, get the upgraded turbo. even at low boost settings, it pulls extremely hard. to sum up, stage 2 kit w/ upgraded turbo and a link plus.

what is the upgraded turbo i.e. name, specs? also all those parts the ITC, RRFPR, FPR, J&S come with the kit right? If i asked ludespeed to not include these parts would it be cheaper? because that would offset the cost of a link. also I can get a wrx ic for less than $500 so i'd rather just do that.

the upgraded turbo is a t3/t04b. it's the same turbine size as the the stage 1/2 but has a much larger compressor and therefore it displaces more air. as for using a WRX IC, good luck. i was gonna use it but the BOV and the throttle linkage are in the same exact spot so you will have to get creative with your BOV install. as for the piggy backs, the only kit that comes with any is the stage 3. the stage 1 has a cartech RRFPR but if you tell Tom not to include it, he will. Tom is really good about getting parts you want and parts you don't.

the best way to figure out what you need is to call Tom, his phone number is on the first page of his site. great guy.
everything that is in the kit that you don't need/want he will credit you for. Q |
