Default Im not the only 1 this has happened to am I?

When I purchased my 07 Impreza it had some minor dings in the fender doors etc... so I got my buddy (paintless dent removal guy) to go around my whole car and get them all out for $140 side work for him. Pretty good I thought right? Then after that I did slight body damage in the snow, fixed! Ok so now I am super careful where I park and park super far away where no ones even parked, O.C.D. maybe! So I go to my Lil bros baseball game (and no a baseball didnt hit my car) LOL but I parked far away just like I always do no one around and when I leave some fool is parked like 2" from my driver side I literally had to go in the pasenger door and I thought theres no way they could of got out on that side WROOOONG! I get home and low and behold theres a big A-- dent in my quarter panel!!!!! I might be CRAZY but oh well i was furious because I gotta pay for someone else denting my car , probably some kid with a baseball bat rrrrrrggggghhhhh so I know someone feels my pain. Im not the only one this has happened to so please let me know you have experienced my pain and I am not alone on this!!!!

I was sitting in my car waiting for my little sis to get my dinner from a take away place, engine was still on and idling. Some old lady pulled up next to me in her crappy car and opens her door straight into my car, stops for a second and walks inside the takeaway place without looking back. I wrote a rather long message saying how some people actually care about their cars to her and put it in her windscreen wiper because i'm not big on confrontation, especially with granmas.

Just reading this makes my blood boil. My wife thinks I'm crazy because I always insist on parking WAY out in the parking lot where it's empty. But, as I always tell her, I swear my car is a magnet for stupid people. I have been hit THREE times in various parking lots, and have never been left so much as a note. Two of them were luckily just dents, and were fixable with paintless dent removal, around $50 bucks a pop. The last was a nice ding in the rear bumper, right through the paint. Luckily I buffed some of it out, and had a little spare touch-up paint, but it's still noticeable if you look close. And here's the kicker. About a year and a half ago, the day we were moving into our new house, I was on the freeway going to pick up the moving truck, when I was sideswiped by a giant raised truck. The guy's wheels and tires completely mangled the drivers' side door, and the guy took off. Probably didn't have insurance, and it was clearly his fault. That was a $350 deductible. So, the point of all this? People are animals, and clearly don't give a *****. Personally, if I hit someone, I'm going to leave a note, but that's just me. Park as far away from people as possible. It's the only way to protect your car.

Default hate those people

i park like a azzhole everywhere i go just for this reason. i usually park in the last spot in any parking lot i go to. i had a 70 year old guy at my work open his bright orange dodge ram door into my fender. 3 days after i got my car. when i asked him about it he denied it. then i went and showed him the video from the security cameras. u know what he told me. he was there first. what the fu%$ does that mean.

i had 2 similar infuriating situations

the first one I was waiting for my little brother to get out of this department store, I was sitting in the car with the engine off. I'm waiting and waiting, and some angry looking......african american lady, parks next to me, SWINGS her door open, hits mine, gets out, doesn't even have the courtesy to double take the situation, just say, "Oh it's iight!!!" and walks inside before i can even reply to the incident.....well, luckily I had just stopped by the owner of my clothing sponsors house and he gave me a handful of stickers and decals, well...let's just say we got some free advertisement out of the situation =)

second time pissed me off even more. This was with my old car. I was at work, when one of my co-workers comes inside from having a cigarette to tell me. "Hey, is that your Mazda 3 with the black wheels and tint?" I said, "yeah why?" expecting maybe to get into a talk about cars or tuning or something, only to have him say, "I think someone was ****ing with it, I just saw 2 girls get out of an SUV and put something all over your doors then drive off giggling. Well my temper just went from the 4 it was already at with dealing with ******** all night, to about a 9.5. Let's rewind back about a week before. I decided to remove the side strips off of the doors to give it more of a sleeker look, only to find out the previous owner must have had the doors re-cleared or something! and it was all scratched and **** underneath. So a buddy of mine repainted the doors for a good deal. I had just gotten the car back 2 days before the incident. Now back to real time. I walk outside at the end of the night (I was really busy) to see they'd put mayo on my door handle in hopes i'd stick my hand in it when i open the door....they were a little sloppy seeing as how it was all over the doors as well. I wouldn't have been so pissed at the time if my doors hadn't been painted 2 days earlier! Well to my relief, mayonnaise does not **** up automotive paint. I never did find the two bitches who did it, but I have an idea.

just a word of advise, don't stick it in the wrong women, because they'll stick something to your car....

Yeah, I used to have two ways of handling this, now all grownz up, I only have one.

1.) If the person is there, I will place a police report. Technically, it is an accident... Insurance will pay for this.

2.) If it is a beater car and they take forever or I have somewhere to be, I would let that person know about it, without exactly leaving a note...

My schools parking lot is terrible, everyone get door dings. I have to strategically part in a spot that has lots of room on both sides

This has happend 3 times since I have purchased my subie.

1) I'm not entirely sure when and where this had happened but it happened with a dumb*** driver. It may have been in my school parking lot, NOVA has some of the WORST drivers I have ever seen, seriously, come over and just park near a highway and count the accidents that you see. Anyway, I was at school? Maybe, in class just waiting for it to be over because I was going to my gf's house. Going to chill there, but first I had to wash my car and make it look good and what-not, you know? Any way I get near my car, notice some real ***** cars near mine. I get in my car, and go home. I get the bucket ready, and everything else. Wash the whole car and start to dry and wax. I get to the rear right side of the bumper and notice some snake skin like markings. WOULD'T YOU KNOW IT SOMEONE LIGHTLY HIT MY CAR, JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE THE PAINT TO WAPR,

sorry I have no idea what I did. Anyways, Snake skinned my paint, what BITC* did that to my baby. So far I have not seen any car with blue paint on the fender nor bumper. I am still looking though.

2) I was at pei wei, it's a chinese food place, or whatever. All I know is that they make mean chicken and rice bowls. So I was in the restaurant and I notice a guy just standing next to me car, so I go out and investigate. Turns out his daughter was learning how to drive that day, and when she was exiting the car, slammed the door into the side of my fender. I mean SLAMMED the crap out of it. The corner of the bottom wheels well is bent in and then I look closer and see scratches along side the whole passenger door. HOW...WHAT!? WHY!??!? does that even happen?!?!?!?! And why was he teaching her to drive IN A CROWDED PARKING LOT?!?!?!?! Honestly, some people are just dumb. And to make matters worse the guy is a Beamer driving lawyer douche bag who had no sense of sympathy for me and my "new" car. So he starts to tell me that my car was parked too close to the adjacent line nearest my car. So I said, O I'm sorry, maybe next time I will incorporate having a dumb father trying to teach his daughter in a crowded parking lot the next time I park. He has no further comment to my amazing and witty comeback. So I said I will need your information, told me I could suck it. So I took down his license plate number and called the cops and reported an accident. The man was pulled over, sorry, is daughter was pulled over and brought back to the scene. She has gotten 2 blocks away, my brother who was with me called the police earlier and I had no idea. LOL thank god for smart family members. So I went to court with the gentleman, I won got reimbursed for the damage and then some. And the daughter can no longer receive a license for another 8 months. WOO one less future bad driver on the road.

3) I was pumping gas, at the shell station, some dumb mustang came speeding along trying to look like a BA, couldn't and turned too sharp, and hit the concrete polls in front of the pumps...thank god for those cause I was on empty to begin with just started pumping and wouldn't have gotten away, if there was a fire, with my car and I'm not leaving it behind. So in the process of the crash, some parts went flying. just bolts and screws, well I didn't think much of it, stayed to tell the police, what they already knew; that the kid was dumb. Anyway got home and noticed that I had some markings on the side of the car. Looked at it close, it was a smudge of something, so I took a rag and wiped it off and in the process of rubbing my paint started to come off @#$@#%^#%&&^%, WHY ME!!!!???!?!??? Needless to say, I'm a magnet for dumb people and dumb situations. So if you see an 05 wrx that blue on the road, best stay clear, bad drivers are behind me....

I have 10k on my car so far with no dings yet and this is my first new car. I parallel park, take a far away end space whenever possible. When I get back to my car I approach from the passenger side and walk around the back to the drivers door for a quick inspection every time.

When I first got the car (<3000 miles) I was in a store parking lot waiting for my wife. I took a position away from the bulk of the cars. It was a windy day and I looked up and a store carrage was tooling toward my driver side door about 20 ft away. Luckily I was idleing and able to quickly put it in gear and lurched forward.

I would have been pissed if it slammed into the car.

I am crazy about parking as far away as possible from people and I had my car for ten days, maybe 800 miles on it, and went out to eat with a friend I parked on an end spot and he parked next to me and I was ok with it because he was a friend, but he wasn't paying attention and slammed his truck door into my car. Got that fixed and then I was parked a couple weeks ago and somehow someone had dented my hood in three places and dented the right front fender. They are small as far as dents go but I am so pissed because it is really expensive to fix but I hate looking at the dents.

yes i feel you bro....
i park at school usually taking the best spots out there. and if there is a spot next to a subaru, ill go for it! LOL... but when i parked 2 days straight in a different parking lot, i have 4 big A** dents ... thank god they are on the same door (Rear right door) .... man i was sooo mad... if i was in my car and had it happen to me ... dude i will be slamming the door on the douchebag's head .... maybe that will wake him up....
or just go one day with a baseball bat and start hitting every car door in the parking lot and see if some douchebags will learn ... and feel what we feel....

I'm an old man and I've had lots of cars. My STI has had more dings and dents than all of my previous cars combined. It's been hit by flying debris out of a dumpster while driving on the highway, backed into while parked by a garbage truck, had rocks thrown into the side from the rear tires of an SUV driven by an a-hole who gunned it turning into an unpaved alley, plus a 4" dent from an SUV door while out to lunch, and 3 dings in the LR door that chipped the paint to the primer. There's a general disrespect for other peoples' stuff out there, and it pisses me off.

I have made people pay for the door dings on my cars, once $350 and the other time $300. Their insurance paid for it.

Right above the grill on the hood there was three, yeah THREE nice size dents where this object slammed into my ****ing car! Does it ever stop!!!!!!!

DAMMIT!!!!!!!!! I went through the car wash the other day, soft touch wash and the tire shine bars that come out on to your tires, ripped the front bumper off of the driver side broke all the plastic clips underneath and cracked the bumper! But they're going to fix it or I am getting a lawyer!!!!!!!!!!

This is why I didn't do a 100% job on my body work when i repainted my OBS. I figure it looks good until you get about 10 feet from it, so I don't mind little dings, but still if some A#$hole slammed their door into mine they would pay One way or another.
