stock with muffler delete on left vs. new exhaust (3" stainless with v-band section at the end) i reused the stock tip, but didnt put it on when it got made

new on left vs. old on right

and this is for the v-band section, when i feel that the external wastegate isnt loud enough

My exhaust was done quick and dirty with all straight cuts, no bends.

So now I want to fab a new exhaust. I have my tubing already (mandrel bent and straight) but I want to know if it would be wise to use flex pipe near the dp?

Any hidden exhausts? Wanting to tuck my muffler up higher with maybe a slight turndown tip for heat reasons. Have a wrx wagon. Wondering what muffler to use. Have a 3" magnaflow and it's still to loud for me.

really interested in the vibrant racing "racing muffler" and resonator setups...been tryna research them for a while now havent found anything until now in this thread! i like the look of straight pipes/no muffler , so ive been tryna look for a muffler/resonator setup that can be welded in not to far after the downpipe . The vibrant racing muffler and resonators seem ideal for fitment, just wondering how loud it would be? I live in New York City, so cops are a bit common and trying to avoid them will be difficult

After shopping around for catback for my 2012 sti i realize there is nothing good with a good price tag , all systems going for 1000$+++ , and almost every sti passing by have them (invidia looks like #1 seller) - so i decidet to build my own - Ill be running 3" from cat in dual 3" axle back with straight flow 3" inlet muffler , if that will be loud for me , ill add resonator after.
I spend 400$ so far. For piping and mufflers (240$ just for mufflers )
And looks like i have all i need - so ill be staying in my shop over the weekend
)
------
Ill snap some pic. For you guys.

Ok. After spending weekend afternoons at my shop, armed with grinder, bunch of piping , mig welder and tig welder - whats what i got.
------
hardest part was to align mufflers (and i still about 1/4" off , passengerside seats deeper ) but - whatever , will fix it some other day
------
After i got on road , seems like car pulls harder - specialy in 2nd and 3rd gear.
So down pipe is next mod, i might do it myself as well (machine shop next door have a water jet cutter - so they can make me a flange for turbo side)
