Thumbs up KC & Surrounding Area Meet, June 22!!

Hey everyone in the KC Area and too anyone in the surrounding area. Peaty is planning to have a get together at his place in Lawrence on Saturday 22nd of June . Anyone interested? I will be there. As I am going to running at the Arrowhead SoloII event on Sunday. Plus if you have anything that you want installed. We can help(As long as it's not something BIG). Just PM Peaty or if you don't hear from him. Just PM me.

!!!!UPDATE!!!!

Here's the plan guys. Steve came up with a good idea.

Lets meet up at Peat's at about 10am and head out to Heartland Park at about 10:30-11:00am to watch and check out all the cool cars at the Porche Club driving school. If you don't make it to Peat's by than. You can just meet us there. Steve will be there running his MY00RS. Spend a few hours there and come back to Peat at about 3pm and have a cook out and talk shop. Plus do any part installs if anyone has any small bit's to be installed.

What do you guys think??

Peat will post direction to his house and I will get you some general direction to Heartland Park if you don't know where that is.

Pat

I think I could/will attend. Afterall I've got to pick up some thing from ChosenWon anyway.

We need more details??? start time, what you need to bring, etc...

So do we want to tackle a ring & pinion job on my OBS so I can have 4.11 final drive again?

Hmmm, steering rack. You'll have to ask Peaty.

I figure around 11am is a good time for people to get there.

Peat, what do you have to say?

We are still working on a site. I know we can have it at Peaty's, but it would be nice to have it at a shop.

At a shop would be cool, if not we can have it here. I need to know by next weekend though so just tell me. How far is Shawnee from here?

If we have it here I was thinking around 3-4 for people to show up for some bergers and brats. Beer for those of age and Pop for those not.

Just let me know ASAP Pat (you can still crash here if you like though either way)

Later,

Peaty

I'm not toooo concerned about distance. I mean how can us local guys complain when Jon is driving in from Nebraska!

As far as a shop goes.....other than Jon's steering thing, are we actually doing any major mods? IF your asking, I kinda prefer Peaty's place. But I'll go pretty much anywhere.

Are you guys crazy???

I said RING and Pinion gears not Rack and Pinion.

It's in the rear differential to lower my ratio...

I doubt I'll have the parts by then anyway, so nevermind. I'm low on cash. Should have the disk conversion done by then though I hope.

Mike, yes I still want the bumper.

DUH!
I'm stupid!

That would be a little harder to do. I have no Idea how to do that but I think my tranny manual has the instructions.

I've done an up-pipe, but not the uni-chip or pulley, but am sure it could be done. I've taken off other pullies and wired up the TCII for my RS.

I'm not in that area though.

I will be attending the KCRPCA (Porsche Club) driver's school that weekend at Hearland Park - read "Track Time, Baby!". This could be an interesting place to caravan too, if not just to see all the cool Porsches and other cars...

Their link is http://www.pca.org/ksc/

Maybe lunch at HPT would be worthwhile... I'm certain all you'd have to do is sign the waiver to get into the pit area.

That sounds like a cool Idea. Meet up at Peat's at about 10 or 11am and head out to Heartland Park. It's not far from Peat, maybe 30mins. Spend some time out there check out the cars. Come back to Peat's for a afternoon cook out and shop talk.

What do you guys think?

I like the idea of meeting here around 10:30 or so and then heading out to Heartland for a while then back here for some food and conversation around say 3? .

I have a grill and will provide Burgers, Brats, Beer and pop. If people want to bring something specific to grill or drink for themselves feel free just let me know so I know how much stuff to get.

I'd like to get an idea of how many people plan on showing up. We can split it into people that will be going only to the track w/ us, people that will only be showing up for the food part and ones that will be doing both. Please post here if you plan on attending. E-mail me direct and I'll send you info on how to get to my place. My e-mail is:

cheeze@sunflower.com

This is for Saturday June 22nd

Meet here at my place around 10 head out 10:30 or 11:00 to Heartland Park in Topeka (~45 min from here), Cheer Steve on then back here for some food and BS time.

One favor, I live in a small development that has lots of kids (including mine) running around. Please don't drive like maniacs around the circle. The neighbors already think I'm a wacko.

Thanks,

Peaty

PS as far as installing stuff, Shifters and bushings are quick and easy but anything other than that I'd be happy to help w/ another time. I'd like to have time to cook and talk with everyone

Sorry, but you guys are going to hate me.

I promised a friend I'd help him strip/paint his house this summer... well he tells me about a week ago that we're going to do it the 22nd, so I won't be able to come down, I'm a man of my word ya know.

Thanks though.... If you want the attend the 2002 NSOC BBQ (see sticky at top), feel free to come up...

Again I'm sorry.

Mike... I'll get the bumper another time, although I'll need to talk with you about it some more have some Q's.
