OMGHi2U AZ to introduce "Share the Lane" law?

some guy at the pavillions said we are apparently about to enact a law allowing motorcycles to drive between cars when traffic is stopped and move to the front row of a stoplight. I googled it and there's nothing recent that I found. Anyone heard of this?

I thought that was already legal. I've seen people do it many times. Motorcycle cops especially.

I know that it's 100% legal to do that in CA.

Good if true. If you're on a motorcycle, do you really want to be stopped behind a car and risk getting sandwiched when the guy behind you doesn't see you. Allowing motorcyclists to do this will reduce this chance.

Now if we could only enforce the law dictating the amount of space a motorist must give a bicyclist when overtaking them, I'd be ecstatic. If I had a dollar for every time some ******* speeds by me at 50+ mph and I'm 12" from their side view mirror.

its only legal to do it in ca under 30 mph i believe... its on account that most motorcycles back in the day were air cooled, so to prevent them from over heating they allow that shiet.

on a side note... these cocksucking bikers (i forgot what patch they were wearing) decided to have a conversation at the off ramp today. so when the light turned green they were just talking to each other making people go intor the right turn lane to make a left turn. their bikes were on they were just sitting there talkin to eachother (girl and guy). kinda makes me wish i was driving a dump truck.

Wirelessly posted (blackberry pearl: BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.330 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I'm not saying I'd shoot someone who did that (I'd want to). I'm just saying, if this law passes and people do that, some will shoot someone over it.

4,300+ pound vehicle vs. couple hundred pound bike, hmmm... i don't care what kinda gun u have, 4,300+ pounds of moving vehicle swerving into your lane as u draw ur gun ='s WIN for the car and biker playing speed bump for following traffic.

but thats my .02 cents

Exactly. I always laugh when people feel invincible because they carry a firearm

These types will be the first to get their asses kicked and pistol whipped with their own weapon for acting like idiots.

I thought the state had to have a helmet law (I know we have eye protection) for this to be made legal?

like i said, i wouldnt shoot someone over it. pretty sure a door doesn't weigh 4k lbs. if someone opens the door into a moving bike, youre pretty much betting that the bike wont overcome the separation force of the door, which is not much. on top of that most of the time they will see it coming and move out of the way. youre basicvally saying you would see someone doing something that they are legally allowed to do and youre going to take the chance that they evade your car door and shoot you because you feel they should have to wait in line even though they can fit in between you and the car next to you. who feels invincible again? sounds more like someone's roids are gettting in the way of their ability to judge a situation. either way, if this law passes, im not going to feel bad for the first ******* to get himself killed because he thinks its ok to risk hospitalizing someone over something they are legally allowed to do.

and lol @ teh terminator

If you have pistol and pull it out on me, you better be prepared to go the distance because if not you'll be the one going home in a body bag.

read my quote very carefully and pretend this is like finding "WHERES WALDO" only i need u to find out where in my quote it says anything about opening a door on a biker.... it clearly states swerving into the bikers lane as the biker draws his gun on me.

while your thinking about that, heres another thing to think about. Most gun owners are right handed, correct? so the biker would have to pull his gun by taking his hand off the throttle. now he could do that but to keep up to speed he would have to take his left hand cross his body to grab the throttle and keep the bike steady (already a feat in it self). i'm thinking this would put the biker in a very vulnerable position, leaving himself open to being brake checked or a swerve in his direction by a 4354 lb vehicle.

and again like i say, i always try to let the bikers pass by moving to the farthest part of the lane so they have room to pass. I have a lot of friends that ride as did my dad. But i guess im use to it because I grew up in a state where it was legal to split lanes, not someone just guessing what it will be like.

we're not talking about swerving into the bikers lane. if this law passes it will only allow us to lane split when traffic is completely stopped. and any biker thats going fast enough while lane splitting to get seriously injured if they crash is an idiot (i understand that a good portion of bikers are stupid). I'm ambidextrous, but for the third time, i wouldnt personally shoot someone over this. not worth going to jail.
