Have a Nice Day? '09 Impreza Alignment...

About 1 year in, I noticed my 2.5i was already pulling to one side...the pulling bothered me a lot so I got an alignment done while getting service done on the car. But now it's only been what 6 months? And the car is pulling yet again to one side slightly more...

Honestly, this is my second car and I've never had to do an alignment on the car more than once for the 3 years I had my VW Golf.

Is anyone else having this problem? I was contemplating on getting a WRX at the end of this yr but I'm hesitant now with this pulling problem.

Is your tire pressure correct? I had a problem with this in my 08 and it came down to unequal tire pressure. If anything, take your tire off, check around to see if there is anything amiss and remount the tire. That's just a small suggestion. If it still does it, take it in and bitch.

Yea I check the tire pressure every 3 months or so. Luckily the pulling is not too much that I can't stand it... Still spending so much money just to get an alignment in such a short period is not acceptable if it's a common problem. I was wondering if there was a known service notice (TSB) for this problem at the dealerships

I only have half a year left on my lease so most likely wouldn't bother to complain unless I end up getting the WRX. The new Mini Countryman Type S is my other option over the WRX since it will be AWD as well.

I'm pretty sure the new WRX hits 60mph almost 2 seconds before the Mini will with it's 180hp turbo charged engine does. Meh, get the WRX if you can afford it!

BTW, if your alignment is bad, take it back and make them spend some time on it. A good shop will spend over a hour to make sure everything is just right. Might also rotate your tires and see if the problem goes away or the car drifts the opposite direction.

We got rid of a 100K+ Mini Cooper S we'd owned since new to pickup the 2.5i.

No alignment problems yet on the 2.5i.

I mention the Mini as a word of caution - ABSOLUTELY loved the vehicle but it was NEEDY - just ATE tires and brakes and rotors and had more than it's share of repairs for the years we owned it.

We WOULD buy another one, but we'd expect to spend more in maintenance and repairs than we would with a Subaru.

Thanks for all your input =)

I will definitely keep that in mind kev, especially when it will be Mini's first year of that model! I guess I will have to wait and see how the car looks in person too to see if I'll still like it.

I love the WRX too but interior-wise I'm not going to see major differences b/w my car now as if I didn't get a new car...yet on the other hand, I'll be able to keep my winters/summer rims/shift knob.

Ahhh choices choices choices!

All that said, we still loved the Mini and we were actually trying to wait for the Countryman to come out before making a decision, but we got tired of waiting and are very much enjoying the new Impreza.
