Default Grand Am Continental

probably my favorite sportscar series right now, certainly the best domestic series around, plus there's some direct Nabisco connections...

I'm watching the latest race from VIR right now...never expected this much carnage though.

Yea there's been some good action so far this year. The VIR race was a fun watch, and the wreck involving the mx5 and others was crazy. I assume thats the wreck you have posted above.

As as a bonus Nabisco Superstar Jatterbu is doing well so far, at least when his car doesn't blow up

That reminds me to ask you...when Turner made that early pitstop for Della Lana's car there were two guys working on the left side of the car. I don't recall what the guy on the front wheel was doing but the guy at the rear was bending bodywork away from the tire. I immediately thought, "Which one is kfoote?"

I don't go over the wall. During pit stops I usually do the lollipop and hand the tires on the pit wall side over the wall for the 96 car.

has found a home on the left facing side of the lollipop.

Damn, so thats what happened to the Miata. Freedom Motorsports and Long Road Racing are local to me and have helped out with my Miata, and Ive seen both the Speed 3's and the Miatas in the shop in Raleigh. I just talked to Glenn a few days ago and forgot to ask him if anything in that car was salvageable.

Its funny, when I was talking with him at the track, he said "Grand Am has thought so much of our performance lately, they gave us a 40lb trophy to carry around with us."

I 'ed.

He was .

That crash is eerily similar to what happened to Phil in the Element STI.

This was a great year in Grand-Am. I work with a small team in Utah called CA Sport, and working these races is some of the most fun you can have..other than driving of course. There was a record crowd at the VIR race, and there are some larger sponsors hopefully coming on for next year, so hopefully the series will grow even more.

Here's the album of photos I took at the final event of the season out at Miller. They were taken on my phone, so I don't have much range of focus. But there's some decent ones in the mix, including several from the pits...
