ej257 hybrid build

i have a 96 impreza coupe and live in mass so i have to pass emmisions.

my plan is to do a hybrid build starting with a ej257 shortblock new from subaru(should be picking up soon) and eventualy buying new heads ecu and harness

basicly what i want to kno is if i want to run avcs and pass emmision do i have to use the udsm 2.5 heads and ecu and just say screw the whole hybrid idea or could i use jdm 207 heads and run a usdm sti ecu to control the avcs?

if i use 2.0 heads i plan on getting the combustion chamber machined to get the CR back to normal instead of running a thicker head gasket . i would just like to run the avcs without dropping bank on usdm heads.

are usdm and jdm 2.0 heads the same besides the avcs? and is going for the avcs even worth it in the end if im doing a hybrid swap? should i just go with factory us wrx heads with upgraded internals and save myself the trouble

save yourself alot of work and headaches and do a full 2.5 conversion.

^^^this if you really want avcs just do a full conversion
