Default URGENT HELP NEEDED (did best buy screw me?)

Hi, I went to best buy the other day and purchased a Metra Harness. It was the following: MET 70-7800.

Today I opened up the dash on my 2002 2.5rs w/o 6 CD changer, and noticed that the harness they gave me was too big. Now I am not one to jump to conclusions, but I assume that the harness i got is supposed to plug into the harness that plugs into the stock radio, right??? If not, where does it. If that is indeed where it plugs in, then I have the wrong harness, and need to go and yell at the idiots at best buy.

I have searched the forum and found that this harness might work:

MED 70-7801

Can anyone with an 2002 (or 2001 for that matter i think) impreza 2.5rs w/o the 6 CD changer tell me what harness they used?

Thanks,

-Will

EDIT: just to clarify, I am trying to install a reciever

Looks like you've got the wrong harness. My search gives Metra 70-8901 as the correct 1993-on up harness.

The 93+ harness will physically fit fine- there is something else wrong here .

I think this was confusing. There is no "non indash 6 cd player". I take that to mean a CD changer that's not "indash". As far as I know, CD Changers were never an option for Impreza's until the new body style, which is always indash.

All the head unit styles for 93+ use the same harness, regardless of cd changer or not. If someone has the older units(separate receiver/casette and CD player), the cd player just connects to the radio, not the harness(if I remember correctly).

As stated, get the 70-8901. They just handed you the wrong harness. No big deal.
