Cool Summer visitor in SLC.

I'm going to be driving to Salt Lake City to spend the summer with my girlfriend, just wondering if there are many members in the area. I'd love to make it to some autocrosses, that would be great, but I'm really interested in doing some driving around, seeing sights. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Also, I'll be driving from Massachusetts, so really I90 then I80 the whole way, are there any cool detours or alternate routes I should be aware of? Looks like a pretty boring drive, Nebraska and such.

Marc

Good luck on the drive. My GF and I just finished the same one, but going the other way (moved to Portland from SLC), but we were in separate cars so we each had to drive the whole way

The route we took was about 200 miles longer than the most direct one, but we wanted to visit friends/family in Denver, Kansas City, and Columbus along the way.

SLC is a loot cooler in the winter though

Well, I've been here 3 days and so far I've seen three GC8 RSes!! Not to mention a fixed up WRX Amazing!

The first was a white one with temporary plates on parked outside of Dan's at Foothill and 23rd East (Foothill Village). The second was a red one on the side of the road in a residential area, I don't remember where. There was a blue WRX with spokey anthracite rims that looked lowered in a parking lot on 4th South. Then we saw an RBP one with gold rims yesterday in the Crossroads Mall parking garage, outside the entrance on Level 2 after closing time, so maybe somebody that works there??

If this keeps up I'm going to have to make i-club cards to carry around and advertise with. Anyone here claim one of those beauties?

None of them mine.

There was some guys getting together this weekend for a drive. I think they ended up just going to breakfast then golfing though so no biggie if you missed it. I missed it because I already made a 6 hour drive and played 3 rounds of golf this weekend before then.

There is an autocross on the 23rd that you should definitely come to. It is at the E-Center and a bunch of us from I-club are runnin the event. It is actually the Team-Arg! guys. http://www.team-arg.com The E-Center is a great site though so come show up and race. Or at least come watch.
