Default Valentine 1 Mounting Options

I recently hardwired my V1 to the map lights in my 2011 wrx but cannot figure out how to mount it. I mounted it by bending the window shade clip like in one of the DIYs on the site here but its vary bouncy when driving and is rather annoying. I have been to several hardware stores trying to great some sort of bracket to use the window suction clip but cannot do so. i wanted to do what the guy did in this thread but cant find the right pieces. Any ideas?

Don't know about your model year, but earlier models had a nice mounting point that was actually a clip for the headliner. Right in the middle near the front is a plastic tab that you can take out and the thing it goes into is actually threaded so you can use a bolt (forget the thread) to mount something there. I have my Escort mounted there and you can't see it from outside unless you look in from below.

I wired mine to the map light and then used the suction mount right above the mirror. It doesn't flop around at all & the valentine has a clear view forward (beneath the black sunshade spots) and a clear view backward. I ran the power cable up the homelink cable router that runs up the windshield so you can't see it. The valentine fills the void between the mirror (which is mounted low in the 09 STi) and the headliner and is easily removed and stowed away (when I park) because it clips into the suction mount. I placed a piece of clear packing tape on top of the black sunshade spots in order for the suction cups to get a better grip. (you can't see the tape because it's clear)

I've had it mounted like this for more than a year with temps ranging from 20-110 and the suction cups have yet to come off. Pic link >

. Most people don't even notice it due to this mounting location.
