Default 2004 Sti transmission $2350 !

Lets start this off by saying I got screwed from the guy that sold me this transmission. The transmision arrived damaged and now I got stuck with it. I dont have the money right now to fix it even though it is an easy fix. The transmission otherwise for the cracks in the bell housing is perfect and works great without any problems. It looks mint and only has 14,000 miles on it. I want it gone asap as it is sitting in my garage taking alot of wasted room. The transmission can be welded and fixed or the bell housing can be changed for $300-400 as quoted from a local. Any questions feel free to pm me. Thanks Nick PRICE LOWERED $2300

Bell housing should be replaced. Welding aluminum is, IMO, a bad idea on something that's going to be subject to flex/load. I had to replace the bell housing on an STi trans that I had, cost me more than $300. If I recall, the part alone is close to that. I think I paid $5-700 for the replacement and install.

Hate to hurt your sale, but don't want anyone else inheriting a bigger problme than they realize.

did they open the tranny up an inspect it? i just dont trust the "transmission place down the street"...and welding cast aluminum will never work right on a part that sees that much stress/flex.
