Thanks Man, I would love to see your car. I have seen the vids and WOW!! I think my new setup will actually be even better than the 2.7L. Its basicly a big bore 2.35L with a big snail I ended up doing the aem stand alone. Hope I can hit some #'s similar to yours..

Send me a PM when you get tuned and maybe I'll swing down for a day and meet you at MPS. You'll definitely hit some big numbers with that big 86mm turbo!!

Looking forward to this. I think it'll be darn nice. I'm definitely going to need an engine build down the road.

Getting closer, Delta should have my heads done this next week bigger cams (kelford 199c's) and better springs. Dom has got my stuff all coming and I cant thank him enough for being patient with me. So the end build is my old big bore darton case in the tune of 102.25mm bore, a badarse 75mm crank, my manly turbotuff rods (yes I know not long rod but doing what I can with what I can) my rod ratio is still 1.75 quite a bit better than a stock 2.5L i.e. 1.64 or even the horrible ratio the 2.7L had 1.54 ewwe...

So with my huge bore and the tiny 2.0L stoke I will end up with a 2.5L destroked LOL CAN NOT WAIT!!!

HUGE thanks to all that have helped me keep this going, Mike @ PIA, DOM @ MPS, and Ken at Delta. As well as all my friends and of course my loving wife that if this one blows up is going to cut my manhood off and feed it to me .

not really, they where already ported and with a flow bench to ensure equal distribution and mainly in the bowls. The valves are +1mm but I had bigger seats put in to match and fully utilize the bigger valve. The main thing delta did was to reshoot the cam lines since my last failure killed em.

Any idea what the compression ratio will be?

Someone here (Turbo_Mike?) was considering a low-CR build on the theory that the extra boost this would allow, would make up for the lower static CR. I never did hear how that turned out but I still wonder. It's an interesting idea.

Dom ordered the pistons to be 9-1 comp. Basicly what I will have is a HUGE bore 2.0L but equates to a 2.5L just because of the bore size.

So to update an old thread, I just dropped off my heads and a handfull of green backs to Dom at MPS. Pretty much decided with my last failure to let the guys over there balance and blueprint the thing to help prevent the problems I had from the last shop doing the work. I wish I would have done this the first time but here I am. So I cant wait and it looks like it should be runing for WCSS13 YAY!!!!!

Seriously crazy stuff mang my car is a 2005 STi and it only has 32,000 miles on it. It also hasnt been tabbed in almost three years.

This build has always been slated for MPS I just have dragged my feet getting the cash to do it. Delta did the heads and did a good job working ith what I gave em. They reshot the cam lines and ground some more aggresive cams for me. Anyway I think I am within $500 of having the engine back in and whatever Dom gets me on a tune for the AEM.
