Default Went Stg. 2 today, just a CEL question...

went stg. 2 today with a perrin div. wastegate 1 piece catless downpipe from an 04 STi and an old school PDE flex uppipe i've had sitting brand new for about 5 years now downpipe wrapped halfway, uppipe ceramic coated.

existing engine mods
ap stg. 1 93 oct cobb OTS map
hks carbon ti catback
samco i/c hoses

encountered a "problem" today afterwards. i started the car up and let it idle for about 35 minutes while checking for leaks. i plugged the EGT bung back in and did not do a resistor fix just yet. both 02 sensors are in place, one in the new downpipe, one in the exhaust mani.

i had no CEL of any sorts during the idle period, i revved it a little bit, not all that much, and still no cel. the car is not road ready for another couple weeks, i need to do some more work so i can't see if it'll throw one under load and boost yet.

just thought this was a weird issue, especially since i had not flashed stg. 2 during the idle period. are CELs defeated as part of the OTS cobb stg. 1 map?

without knowing the code Im gonna guess its your rear o2 sensor freakin out. Even though you put it back in, it is meant to monitor the condition of the catalytic converter in the down pipe. Since you no longer have a cat, the o2 sensor is reading incorrectly.

The CEL is not normaly turned off for the stage 1 maps. You may need to drive the car to trip the code. But if you aren't getting the CEL there shouldn't be an issue.

don't get me wrong, i wasn't complaining about it

just like to have a reasonable answer for things that seemingly don't go the exact way everybody else's installs do.

originally posted this in 2.0T and it was moved into here, i honestly forgot about the A/P subforum and its nice to see a cobb representative in here as well.
