STI 6sd swap

Default May be a stupid question but need to ask

I'm running the xpt stage 3 race map on my 06' wrx at 288whp. Just blew stock 5spd to shreds. Was wondering how my map will work if I do a 6spd sti trans swap? or even if i build my 5spd with different gear ratios, maybe albins, if it will throw my map programming off too.

Slightly, but not much. Mainly just different load sites will be hit.

I just put some PPG's in and my map was fine, I just tweaked timing in the mid range a bit where my load was slightly different.

You might want to adjust your gear determination thresholds, but unless you REALLY change your gear ratios the stock thresholds should still apply.

There's a boost compensation for 1st gear in a lot of models, that's all that I know about. There could be more tables that depend on gear that aren't defined in the current ECU definitions though.

I'm pretty sure that's just on the STi, but I could be wrong. As far as the defs go, there is a per gear timing compensation on some models, but nothing else that I have found.

leaning towards the 6mt swap for sure, so it would have to be retuned then...?

adding a lot of weight to your car with the 6MT.

I'm a bit partial honestly because I use and sell Albins gears. We have them in our drag car.
