Yeah i had one that wasn't working bcuz the wire would not stay inside the connector so i pulled them out and got them seated back in. But, after thinking about it....i may have accidentally reversed the 2 of the 3 wires and it may be spinning the wrong way. When I checked to see if they were working I didn't think about what direction it was spinning so i'll have to check that when i get out of work tonight. I'm hoping that is all that was wrong. As for the grille now i can get a jdm.

I'm hoping my grimmspeed 160 didn't fail. I called them to ask about failures and they said it would fail open if it did. They said i could check it by putting it in a pot of boiling water.....when it reaches 160 degrees it should pop open. But I think a reversed fan my be the culprit. Which would also explain the melted grille. That happens to be the same side that had the problem fan so it was probably pushing all the hot air right out to it.

Painting side skirts this weekend. I'll have some leftover paint so I was wondering what to do with it. Has anyone ever taped off the honeycomb and paint matched the bottom of the stock grille? Or what about the area around the fogs?

Fog light area looks much better flat black like it came stock. My whole bumper was painted PSM by the previous owner and I definately prefer the stock look.

And also, I wanted to have him paint my side skirts, he said since they were stock, and the tire shine had soaked in, that sooner than later the paint would later easily flake/peel off. I took this with a grain of salt. But I complied with him anyway. Something to think about. I'm not positive what truth there is to this. But I figured I'd mention. mattTHEpainter has a nice thread going as far as painting questions and issues if you wanted to inquire him. |

do you have a pic by any chance? I'm just curious. I was leaning toward bottom of the grille but I don't know if it'll even be visible |

Mine was all blue too, I've only painted the fog light surrounds so far... Still need to do the center
![]() They probably painted the whole thing out of laziness so they didn't have to tape off anything. |

havent posted in a while so i figured id show what ive been up to.
was in winter/rallyx mode. stock WRX suspension with 1" front & 1.25" rear lift blocks actually raised the car 1.5" all the way around. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Switched up into kinda summer mode. STi struts and top hats with COBB springs. TEIN super streets coming soon for more low. and hopefully wheels tires sparts front and rear and a rear lip. ![]() ![]() also just did an STi interior swap, no pics of that yet. i need to go get everything cleaned up real good and take good photos. |
