No way. Kudos for having the headlights, and the 3 piece front I've always wanted... And you've got it all on the line. I love it

I've heard Lexan scratches insanely easily though

Plexiglass?

Acrylic with clear 3m over it?

You could even get rad and get some vents cut into it if its thick enough.

in Canada, they would all start rusting OR the winter-beater demand shot up for the last two winters.!

As a DIY-everythinger, i can appreciate the work that goes into a nice tuck-job, and have it engrained in me that DROP = ATTITUDE when it comes to putting your personal style into your build, but I remember this place being ape-***** when ppl drove on S-techs, being too low, Roll-center threads being 30+ pages deep and the talk about offsets and chewed wheel bearings.....

then I finally registered.

This is what I was thinking there are different variants of lexan with more scratch resistance than others.

Lexan is the most resilient plastic material I've ever delt with. I had destroy it and we had to shove half of a big piece of it into a trash compactor and hope it snapped it. It did. On the third try. Use lexan.

Thanks guys. I like the way it looks right now. There is a skid plate under there, it's just hard to see under the lip.

LMFAO! It means foreigner but the way some people use it is derogatory. I have no idea what that South Park episode is about but ill look it up now. LOL

EDIT: it's funny how people that aren't born and raised here are considered "local" because they moved here and got a state ID. LOL. that's like saying if I move to Africa and paint my face I'm considered an aborigine and apart of the local tribe. I don't talk, act or even look like the natives yet i consider myself a local. Mahalo means thank you. LOL

Yeah, new is like ~400-500 bucks the last time i saw it. and like 200 for shipping. Will be considering that too.
that and trying to actually smog it legally is impossible since you'd need a JDM ECU which won't match the VIN number. I really looked at this as an option to replace my motor with, but I hate having to look for "a guy" to smog it,
as more and more of them are getting busted here in the land of government
rules all

My JDM ECU doesn't hold my VIN or I am not able to locate it within the software. Subaru select monitor is the only way to verify this if the VIN is actually stored. The dealer doesn't ask you for your vin to burn into the rom at the dealer if your ECU goes bad or if you order another one.

I'm just going based on my knowledge. I have no idea what smogging actually does. If smog does check your ECU for a VIN then older cars that have no ECU are exempt? That would also mean that every year their machines need to be updated since OBD I, OBD II, CAN is completely different.

I love the Bug for what it is, but am tired of trying to turn the Bugeye into something it's not. Mixed feelings... time to sit on it for a while.

I concur with this idea Easy piece to make!

Step 1. Paint "exposed" areas of hood black.
Step 2. Paint underside of lexan with a black border.
Step 3. Epoxy bolts to lexan, then bolt down.
Step 4. Add fake sky?
Step 5. Profit!
