my friends 05 STI wasn't modified. It was a wrecked car and I took the bumper brackets. I'll check if the brackets have a different part number. It doesn't really matter though. The lights will fit on a bugeye bumper regardless of if you get those brackets or not. Plus the 04/05 bumpers sit farther away from the car than the 02/03 this is why they fit and why the 04/05 bumpers need that little cut out.

I swapped bumpers and needed to change the brackets due to the curve on the 04-07 bumper for the taillights. Although the 04-07 taillights fit on the 02-03 bumper, your going to run into trouble when trying to put the newer bumper on.

yes but the issues wasn't for the newer bumpers... it was for an 02/03 bumper with 04/05 tail lights. I understand that part and I believe others do to. The fact that there was a cut out on an 02/03 bumper... me and the others are saying that it wasn't necessary. My reasoning is also listed in the post above yours as well.

It should because of the reason I mentioned earlier. I haven't tried it do if you buy and doesn't fit the same you'll need to make it happen and share your experiences.

i thought the design of the wagon tailights have a horizontal top deisgn and our sedan tailights have a slight angle at the top.
