2 cans of gunk heavy duty gel engine degreaser, soak, scrub, and rinse. I then sprayed simple green and let it soak for 5 mins. Then scrubbed over simple green with a wash mit and car wash soap. Then a good final rinse, quick shot with the leaf blower, and let the engine idle dry and done!

Don't spray down the engine bay while it's still hot. You will just end up with water spots.

I'm not a bugeye owner anylonger, I have an 05 Sti now, but I'm in the same boat! I have my car lifted up on my coils, and snow tires on, cant wait for snow, but i haven't seen the first bit of snow! Pissed is an understatement! Ha good looking Rex btw! The snow will be your best friend!

Did you cover the alternator and electrical or use a small spray bottle for rinsing? Good thinking with the leaf blower! This is going to be my first priority once spring rolls around.
