quick question for 08-10' STI guys... I read IWSTI a lot and almost every journal they seem to have already been through a motor. Is this MOSTLY just 2008's, or is it all 08-10?

I was hoping if I pick up an 09-10 I would have less likely a problem with ringlands & bearings.

my 08 wrx crapped a rod bearing at 24,000 miles. Warrantied as a factory defect. Certain vin numbers and build dates had a factory recall.

I'm looking to make the jump this winter from my Audi into an 09' STI, So I want to try understand if there is something to look for. I am going to try to avoid buying an 08 at all cause because to me, those seem to have more problems than any other year

My 04' spun a bearing 1 month after purchase, and I really don't want to go through that again. Hoping to have a positive experience with my next subaru

I've got an 08 I purchased used in July of 09. I've got ~37k miles and no motor troubles. I put on a Cobb DP/Fujitsubo CBE at about 20-25k miles and its been chugging along without fail. *knock on wood*

The tires are just inside/outside specific, not directional. He has it correct.

I made my car uglier while the OEM grille is getting painted.

My 2010 has 35,000 miles and it just broke a piston.
