Kubica is my hero...a year after that crash he came back and won the race.

Last weekend at Monaco he finished third in the Renault.

I like him just because he doesn't look like a race car driver at all ...

also because Lewis Hamilton says Kubica is the only driver he worries about...as in he'd wipe the floor with me in equal cars worry about.

my favorite image from the Formula One season so far...Mark Webber and his Red Bull-Renault RB6 on their way to a flag to flag victory in Barcelona.

Gilles Villeneuve didn't know the meaning of the word "quit". Something about being a French-Canadian or whatever.

I'll dig through my F1 folders for some more gems.

I might fulfill one of my long time dreams by going to the Pikes Peak Hillclimb this year. If so, I will be stocking up on memory cards for my camera

okay so I'm breaking m own rule here but it's Gilles Villeneuve ...

His very first Formula One race was in a second hand McLaren M23 at the 1977 British Grand Prix.

by 1978 he was a Ferrari factory driver.

Enzo reportedly loved the little Canadian like a son.

Even when Gilles occasionally referred to his car as a "****box" Enzo would only smile and pat him on the head.

safety standards? what safety standards?

Villeneuve's final race, the 1982 Dutch Grand Prix at Zolder. During final qualifying Villeneuve's Ferrari ran into a slower car and was launched into a series of rolls. He died later that evening from the injuries he suffered when he was ejected from the car. On his last set of 'qualifying tires' and with no time left it's reported that Villeneuve never lifted and simply misjudged where the slower car would be at the exit of the track's chicane.

Formula One has never seen another driver like Gilles.
