I know it sounds dumb but did you try and pry on it a little, theres a little nub on the y-pipe [assuming its a stock sti hose]. Ive had to do it a few times to get a good connection. A lot of times ill just take the intercooler brackets off and place that hose first.....

We used the throttle body as leverage and pried on it as hard as we felt was safe. It's not going on any farther. And that little metal nub ripped out of the hose as well. Just trying to find a new one at this point I guess...

Hrmmm, did you try to loosen the intercooler side of that hose and pull it out a bit to bring it forward?

I know this last time I replaced my turbo I had to re-seat it on the up-pipe to get it close to where the original was..... Ive never seen one that far off though :/

So far im PM'ing the local shops in hopes they have something lying around I can buy. Other than that, ive found some 2" ID silicone hose with the 90 degree bend online I can buy. I just have to wait for it to get here... and in the mean time drive the VW :/

I paid for my 'new' engine and ordered new brake pads to go with my 00 RS front brakes.

Bought myself some new to me headlights from a fellow member and began the overhaul!

After:

Still need to tint an orange reflector black and buff out the clear cover.
Why would they install a reflector that has no functional use.
Installation to come soon!

Finally gave it a wash, couldn't wait any longer. Pulled my broken fog light and replaced the lens, also put on fog light protectors so it won't happen again. Picked up a hood protector (I have about a half dozen rusting chips already), but can't decide if I want to keep it. Not sure if I'll like the look.

Replaced a couple more old hoses. Ordered a new ext. door handle assembly.. Nothing wrong with mine, just a little paint chip. Car will look brand new!

also trashed the front strakes for some new OEM replacements.

Smashed my passenger front wheel into a curb trying to avoid a crazy dog which in turn destroyed it. 3 hours later ordered some 18x9.5 dpts. Once the car can move again gonna get the suspension looked at. Just glad I have awesome insurance and a low deductable
