A full 2.0 long block might run you $1000-$1500.

If this one is blown and just needs a rebuild, you could do it for easily $800.

Not a terrible deal all things considered.

I dunno. It might just be a sink-hole for money. But if it's not your daily, then who cares right?

I'd help you pull the motor and rebuild it (in YOUR garage as mine's full).

I wonder if anything else is wrong with it...

Perfect candidate for an EJ207 swap...

I filed mine on the 14th of April (although they were done at the end of January) and got my refunds (256 state, 12 federal) in less than 2 weeks. I e-filed and had then direct deposit the refunds.

It took A LOT of juggling to get a refund on Federal. The first time I did it, I owed $1400! We'll see if I get audited. Single, non-homeowner, no children FTL.

Yeah, I apparently cannot figure out how to do that. Maybe it's my tax bracket I'm in or something. This year I'm committed to "hide" as much money as I can away in pre-tax contributions and whatnot (401K, HSA, IRA) so that I might actually get a refund or at least no pay nearly as much in taxes.

It's frustrating to pay taxes all damn year and then still owe.

Better to be left owing than to give the government an interest free loan.

i filed the very first week of february!! its because i bought a house last year, so trying to get that $8k out of their hands and into my account is whats killing me. also, i had to re-sign something because i guess i missed it initially, so thats taking longer too.

THIS^

I owe every year. Take that extra money and invest it throughout the year and make money on it rather than the government making it.

Yes, but you can only owe a certain amount (for something like two years in a row) before you have to pay penalties and if you do so long enough, they make you pay taxes quarterly. So make sure you're not owing too much.

My issue is I just don't want to owe anything or be refunded anything. If my taxes resulted in a $0 return, I'd be happy. I came close with $12 this year (with juggling), but it becomes difficult with capital gains and what not to figure that out.

On another note, I'd like to congratulate Max on his $8K back. I will take may share in cash. Thanks.
