Default No alignment after new tires?

So I got new tires put on today (star specs, finally ) and went immediately over to the alignment shop. and since i took it to get aligned about 3-4 months ago (at the same place, by the same guy) after putting on springs he said that unless i've done any other mods since then or hit a curb or something that I really don't need another alignment so soon. he said to drive 1000 miles and come back and he'll check on the wear and then re-align it if necessary. does this sound like good advice or should i just get it aligned right now anyway?

Assuming the previous alignment had no issues, you don't need one.

Why would changing your tires change your alignment?

That's one of those myths most alignment shops love, because they're scummy bastards. You've got a good alignment tech - thank him profusely.

^^^ this, you shouldnt need an alignment, and the average alignment tech would have taken your $100 or whatever you pay without flinching.

Most shops recommend an alignment when you get new tyres because most people only do it every few years. You have an honest alignment guy.
