Clutch/Brake pedal box question (swap)

I am in the middle of swapping a 6MT into my Forester XT (4eat).

Do I have to remove the steering column to get the clutch/brake pedal box installed?
I fought it for a while today and gave up as there seems to be no way to get the thing lined up without taking the steering column out.

I am using an STi pedal box, all the studs are in the right places when comparing the auto pedal box to the STi pedal box but there seems to be no way this thing is going in without pulling the column.

Anyone know something that might help me get through this (without pulling the column)?

no .. at least on the GC you didn't
should be the 4 bolts +brake master cyl +2 connectors

did you buy a new clutch master and salve cyl .. its worth the extra $100 in headaches

No the MC and SC came with the complete (wrecked) car I bought for my last swap.
These are left overs from that adventure which turned out great.
