Default FS: 2005 LGT 5MT - 4.11 Final

So here's the deal, I recently acquired a 2005 LGT Transmission with ~65,000 miles on it. The PN for this trans is TY757VBAAB. This means it has the LGT gear ratios as a 4.111 final drive. This makes for a nice setup and tends to reduce the stress on the gears that the 3.70 and 3.9 final drive boxes see. Why replace you 5MT with the same ratios which helped it blow in the first place? This box appears to be in good working order and low mileage.

The bad: this trans has deep grooving on the snout due to a throw-out bearing failure.

The good: this damage can easily be repaired with a snout repair kit (like the TSK3 kit). These retail for about $140-150 and they significantly help the feel of the clutch engagement by reducing the chatter that can occur with a factory TOB sliding on the somewhat rough aluminum factory snout. I can order this kit and install it or you can. It literally takes less than a half-hour and requires no special tools at all. Here is a link to the kit:

http://subaruwrxparts.com/shop/pc/vi...5&idcategory=0

Anyway, I need my garage room back and I would like to move this transmission out. Throw me some offers and we can talk it out.

If you are interested, I can get pictures, but it's a very clean box aside from the grooved snout. the snout looks similar to this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/4988312...n/photostream/

It is already boxed up and ready to ship.

Let's hear your offers/comments.

If this trans also has the rear ham, with a good center diff I'll buy it off you. If you want to just sell the center diff I would like that even more as it would reduce shipping. I'm in Ottawa, Ontario.
I'll wait for you to contact me with a price you think is fair, thanks

Bump for a very strong transmission. Read about the lack of problems the LGT guys have with these.

I really wish I had some money to offer you, I'd buy this so fast haha.

Thanks and you're right. Just take a trip over to LGT.com and read the numbers those guys put down on these boxes.

I've got some bites so far, but no takers. Check back if you get some change and I may still have it for you.

Bump.

Thanks for the bump! I keep trying to tell people this, but they are all 6MT this and 6MT that. This has proven strength and much better ratios for the majority of people!

Up and Up.

This is perfect for the 2.5RS guys from what I've read. A hugely popular swap with good results.
