Angry WRX catback on 2.2l OBS catpipe...the weld broke :| Quick dia ?s

I've had a WRX midpipe and axleback on my 1999 OBS catpipe for a few years now. The weld broke (pothole from hell) and I don't have the means to get it welded back on immediately.

I'm going to the parts store to get an adapter (or two) a clamp (or two), and possibly a small length of pipe to serve as a bridge.

Now from searching NASIOC I've found that the WRX midpipe diameter is 2.25", but I can't figure out if the OBS (1999 2.2l NA) catpipe outlet is 1.75" or 2".

I also can't tell if those numbers are inner diameter or outer diameter.

The midpipe was a bit rotten at the weld, so I trimmed about an inch off of it. This presents a bit of a fitment issue needless to say. To get the thing back together, I had a small length of aluminum intake piping laying around so I cut a chunk out of it lengthwise and compressed it into a funnel/spacer to bridge the gap. Its clamped, but its loud as hell and is pretty much there for appearance.

So the questions I would appreciate answers to:

* Is the ID (inner diameter) of the WRX midpipe (from a 2003) 2.25"?
* Is the ID of the OBS catpipe 1.75" or 2"?
* Should I put the reducer INSIDE of both pipes, or inside the catpipe and then the other end OVER the midpipe inlet?
* The exhaust wall is .25" thick, yes? So in clamp sizes I'd want 2" clamp on the catpipe end and 2.5" on the midpipe (is the exhaust is indeed 1.75" ID and 2.25" ID)

Thanks in advance!

Posted in NA as this is a NA car.

EDIT: I should probably add that when the catback was installed, both flanges (on the midpipe inlet and catpipe outlet) were removed entirely and a straight shot of pipe welded between the two.
