Post Cali or bust

Bare with me, I'm gonna be a convert from the East coast, as I'm moving out to San Louis Obispo around Feb.17th. Where is the Q autoX in relation to SLO? Where do you guys/gals hide the good dirt roads? hehe Anyone live near SLO? Cheers!

HEY! Welcome to Cali (pre welcome ) !!!

Good date to move too, Feb 17 is my birthday!!

SLO, from what I hear from a buddy, has a LOT of good places to run the subie. Long wide roads etc... those are rare close to Downtown LA where I live.

The Q stadium is in San Diego. 2 hours south of downtown LA. I don't know exactly where SLO is but I think it's 2 hours NORTH of LA...
so the Q is quite a drive for you!

oh no no, my friend Mizen, SLO is about 4-5 hours north of LA. Add another 2 hours to SD, and that's a trek!
Gotta fly!

Nothing like doing a 40 mile trek in 13mins including getting gas ..... No matter what Kartboy tells you there was no triple digits on I-5..............

40 miles in 13 minutes works out to 185mph. Even faster if you account for time to accelerate up to 185mph. And decelerate back down to 0mph.

And then there is that quick stop at the gas station you made

Maybe if the road was really curvy for 40 miles and you just went off road?? But the I-15...? maybe not I guess...

My personal quickest is along the 60, from the 710 freeway to the 57 freeway. In 12 minutes.

I was not behind the wheel but I was in the passenger seat with the binoculars and scanner.

Re; SLO. That's a fantastic area! Hiwy #1 to Monterey, Cambria, Morro Bay, Montana de Oro State Park, The Paso Robles and Santa Barbara wine districts. You have about 45 tasting rooms to find and try out thier wares!!! My faves are Zaca Mesa, Firestone in Sta. Barbara and *Justin, Adelita, Sylvester, in Paso R. and it all got blurry after that. Cal Poly, Questa College, very good restaurants, lots of young people happenings, fresh air, a few big lakes, spring greenery, neat farm roads all over! Bring eastern money, keep Calif. green :-) Your Subie dealer in town would be Rancho Grande Motors.
*Justins 1998 Isocelese (a blend) rate 95 points in the Wine Spectator tastings.
