Default crawford 2.5l s2

i am thinking of buying the 2.5 s2 shortblock and using my stock heads off my 2004 wrx..

first question: what sort of difference will there be versus either A: crawford performance heads or B: sti heads? will it be worth the time and effort taking the engine apart just to use the same stock heads?

second question: what sort of HP gains are associated with this setup? (stock heads/crawford s2 shortblock) with no other modifications.

anybody with this setup have any advice/opinions/things they would do differently/dyno logs?? i am trying to keep this as easy on the wallet as i can.

First question: Unless you are planning some large horsepower goal, or using the car for track racing, you don't need the upgraded heads. In fact, we just made 750 hp on our Time Attack STI with stock 08 heads.

Second question: The S2 block is an STI shortblock with forged JE pistons. You're not going to see any real horespower gain over the stock block without any modifications. But as you add modifications, the forged pistons will allow you to tune the car more aggressively than with the stock pistons. They also act as added assurance
