Default Looking for Serious 06+ Owners

Hi Nathan,

I’m glad and excited to see this project finally start. We will need a Legacy here for a minimum of 5 Days. It would be preferable to have it come in for a day appointment so our fabricator can take a look at the car and make a list of the necessary stock to complete the prototype header before hand so that we are not waiting on parts to arrive during our 5 day window. Once done, and scheduled, we will need the car for a minimum of 5 Days. At that point, we will produce the prototype header. Once the prototype header is completed, we can then send that unit off to be remade. Within a few weeks after sending it out, I will have all the information as to when to expect the production pieces to return and the final cost per production unit.

The Prototype unit will cost ~1000.00 to build. You are welcome to pay using pay pal. Our pay pal address is sales@eastcoastswappers.com

Logically on your end, I would find 10 people or more who will commit to this project. Have all of them split the cost of the 1000.00 for R&D. Once we have an idea of the final cost for the production piece, have them send the remainder of the money into you, and then you can forward it onto us for purchase of an agreed number of production manifolds.

http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...ld-138913.html

This is it one more and a test car and WE ARE ON OUR WAY!

No i mean 2006+ guys there is no difference in the Stock Exhaust Manifolds 2006+ forward even the 2010 and 2011 N/A Legacies and Imprezas have the same the year change is from 2005 to 2006. The water pump changed locations and they modeled the N/A manifold after the JDM twinscroll manifolds and relocated the cat for better emission qualities.

IF you have a 2006+ impreza ECS will be building a UEL soon we are only taking a group of 10 (or however many are seriously interested) . This is a Legacy 2.5i group build but the manifolds btwn ours and yalls are the same.

Fab cost is $1000 split 10 (or the number of locked in owners) ways. The final manifold cost will be determined by the manufacturer. But this will be bolt on and have a catalytic converter.

Simple math the more the cheaper. But we aren't waiting around on this build to play 20 questions if you are interested I will PM you the information but in short ECS has PayPal so you can send your deposit directly to them and they est about 8 hours of fab time and once that is finished the prototype will be sent out to be reproduced. It will be a T304SUS header

so you're saying this will bolt up to the 08+ mid pipe? how is this possible given that it is located further down about four inches and the flange is rotated compared to the 06-07? I'm strictly speaking impreza though, but you said the legacy is the same design.

You are thinking too far rearward move forward to the connection btwn the cat pipe and manifold.
(this picture is from Zepplinpie792 thread on UEL installation)

In case you have never seen your manifold this is it. The header will replace this manifold and bolt to stock locations. Your 06+ Impreza and my 2008 Legacy 2.5i have the exact same manifolds and cat pipe but different past the end of the cat pipe(flanges for 06-07 vs 80+ impreza guys). I ran a 2007 Impreza stock manifold on my 2008 Legacy with no problems.

So this is why i extended the build to the Impreza guys b/c ultimately you guys will be the driving factor for the UEL after this first batch b/c there are a lot more of you all

so this is a bolt on solution for an unequal length header for my 06 2.5i? assuming you'd get 10 people to hop on board for this production then i'd be getting the burble i want in a 304 stainless header for $100?

please PM me more info on this. i am all kinds of interested.

Just curious, do they only plan on running this one batch or will them sell them regularly in case one can't afford to get in on the first batch?

Also, will these having the sewing machine affect like my ebay UEL's? It gets so annoying especially when near other cars or walls or something. The sound gets so loud in traffic ppl look at me like something is wrong with my car.

Once the main factors for me in possibly taking off my uel's is the damn sewing machine affect, it sometimes ruins the enjoyment of the burble all together.

That is what R&D is for and header wrap will solve you problem instantly thats why the stock unit has a lot of fiberglass packing inside the heatshield to stop this tick

fabrication fee is 1000$ / number of participants. definitely won't be buying these for $ 100, and if you could, you should be worried lol.

I don't have money right now to get on this not to mention some other issues I have including not having my OEM catpipe anymore and not being able to find one locally.

My level of annoyance has reached a fever pitch today and I posted up a new thread for all the enjoy in my agitation!!!

Watching this thread though for updates, etc.

Depends on how cool your subaru dealership is. Technically it will only void your emissions warranties.

This varies by state in VA my dealer (Stohlman Bros in Tyson Corner) told me that "a modification has to be linked to the failure to deny a claim" if you put in a header and your transmission fails thats not a reason to deny the claim. If your down stream O2 sensor burns out that could be a different story b/c they could say your header caused this problem. when actually it is a ****ty sensor.

Like I had to put my Legacy 2.5i in the shop for 11 days with a Throttle controller still wired in for a ECU reflash for fluctuating idle. I asked the Tech is that would be a problem he said "No this is ECu related does your throttle control require ECU integration ?" I said no it is a inline mod that isn't associated with the ECU he said "then you don't have a problem"

I am very interested in seeing photos of these when the first proto's are done. Very excited potential but don't want to jump the gun to quickly.
