Default Feeler: Lubro-Moly and Motul oils

Hey VICers,

I have a friend of mine who can bring in Lubro-Moly and Motul oils at a rate lower than retail places. I'm posting this thread to gauge interest as he's considering setting up a local VIC vendorship.

For example, he can bring in a 5L jug of Lubro-Moly Synthoil 5W40 for 55 bucks compared to 70 bucks at a shop.

Feedback would be appreciated!!

Victor

For the Lubro-Moly Synthoil 5W40, $62 taxes in; I think a similar Motul oil would be around that price too.

I need to check with my friend on that.

Feedback is welcomed!!

Essentially, he can get whichever fluids that are available on Lubro-Moly and Motul websites at a lower price than retail places.

It's a pretty competitive market he is getting into from what I can tell.

There are a lot of shops stocking German 'Moly, Motul, Eneos, Total, Rotella, Amsoil, ELF etc. now.

He would need to go around and check, some prices are tough to beat and may not be worth his time if he is just a few bucks cheaper.

Example: The benz mechanic shop on bridgeport sells the 5w40 German Moly for $35+tax. Can-parts (near royal oak / kingsway) sells it for $48 tax included.

Mind you these are walk-in and I don't get discounts at these places. Dont take it the wrong way this is just fyi.

agreed, Moly has NEVER been close to Motul's price tag, had tried both but moly didn't keep my business for more than 10 months then i ended up with Motul for over 5 years. I'm interested to know if OP's buddy can do $62 inc taxes but if that's the price for Moly, that's not very competitve?

Hi, the post is a bit old, and I haven't used moly for a long time. I am not sure if the pricing I provided is still in effect, so YMMV.

I believe the shop is BMV auto parts, it is right near volco on bridgeport.
