First of all hello guys I'm new here, I've been in this site quite awhile but not as a member, just searching and learning from this site and Q's that i already had which were like 40 lol i already found them answered here. So no asking from me... except the title lol
So here's the thing:I have an '04 WRX, it has the 2.0L (no engine swap, thou I'd love a 2.5) so i have swapped the wrx top mount intercooler and installed the STI top mount intercooler, bought and installed a 3" downpipe and this is where I'm at (i got it just a few months ago) **I did get an EM, and I'm pretty happy with how the exterior looks, I've personalized it to my liking, so no exterior mods, and as for the interior i swapped the stock 6 cd changer with the new forester 6cd changer.... with AUX. that's all I need a/w I'm just focusing on the engine**I'm planning to get: 850cc injec.(if you think its better to look lower just say so), a vf39... or an 18g or 20g (I care about lag, i want one with the best power for the less lag, at least a strong one with a lag that isnt bothersome) OH with ewg (if it's better), I'm getting the kartboy shortshifter with bushings, a stage 2 clutch and well you guys can add from here on or make suggestions on "MUST HAVE" mods. or what you feel are the best and most compatible mod combinations... much appreciated. ![]()

Suspension, tires, and brakes as others have said, assuming you've just modded the engine so far.

1) springs / swaybars / endlinks / mounts
2) catback exhaust / exhaust mods (uppipe / headers w/e) 3) em (tune) save up more money 4) fmic, injectors, new turbo 5) re-tune 6) cabin bling and comfort, spoilers /lips / seats / gauges etc. **** the brakes. I have upgraded lines, pads, and rotors on my car and can't say I even notice a difference. |

i feel the same way as you bro, dont really find the brakes that much of a DIRE mod, oh and yeah i already have the fog covers, with the corner splitters and im getting the sti wing, ive always loved how i adds to the whole shape, plus its wind tunnel tests were pretty good and I'm pretty interested in installing swaybars, happy turning ![]() Last edited by WrXLoLiS; 06-02-2010 at 10:26 AM. |

Did I miss the part where you said you have some form of EM? With the dp and intercooler it's a must before anything else.

What's your budget, and what type of driving do you plan on doing? This determines a lot

bah, for now my budget is growing no class so dedicating all my time to my work so im saving up to get the most decent parts i can instead of cheap under powered replacements lol but yeah still want GOOOOOOD deals hehea/w im just looking to get my car faster, if many of you relate to drag then id say a final product (since my goal isn't to make my car the fastest wrx in the world) is to make it run low 12's to 11's so im looking to up the hp, maintain good performance, best and most efficient mods on a 2.0... if possible, if not then tell me the cold ard truth do i need the 2.5 L or can a 2.0 reach that aswell, oh and im guessing ill have to work on the 5 speed tranny?? ![]() PS. It's also my daily driver, so I maintain it good ![]() |

Realistically speaking, making your car run 12's is not gonna be a great idea for a DD. It will break and you will be w/o a car for at least week at some point, this I can almost guarantee.
I know someone else is gonna come in tell me otherwise, they may be the exception. |

The most fun can be had with an 18g ported, ported exhaust manifold, 38mm EWG up pipe, 3" downpipe andexhaust, a good boost control solenoid, injectors, fuel pump, and a solid tune on 93 or E85.
TONS of fun with some good reliability still Will |

yeah but the 2.5 to the 2.0 has both there pro's and con's....and also i love the 04 sti and 05 .......but with millage and it being the first u.s. sti.....im mostly looking toward an 07 sti...they have had time from the 04 to look at some of the small mistakes and fix them in the newer sti. |
