New Injen Intake

Injen has a new intake on their opening webpage for a 05-07 2.5i.
However, its not in their inventory yet. I just emailed them on this dillema.

I know all about the intake debate but just figured I'd throw this out there, Maybe they somehow fixed the MAF and AFR problems with it.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Those gains are pretty crazy! I couldn't find anything in there actual list of parts. Hopefully they release it soon with a little more info and pictures!

someone on here had some inside acquaintance with a injen developer and supposedly they solved the problem, but after seeing the design, it appears they just scaled the MAF section of the intake to match the OEM MAF housing I.D. IIRC. A search should get you to that thread. Don't think the prorotype was ever logged to see if it helped at all, etc.

The physics of the problem say that the solution would require a chamber of a specific volume and that is what the OEM resonator is/does.

I read up on that post, and in curiosity looked at injens website. Unless there is some solid data on their new CAI I wont be putting any thought into purchasing it.

I'm currently looking to buy an Intake for my '07 2.5i. Anyone have any suggestions for one thats not going to cause problems with engine management?

The guy who's car that intake was developed on posted extensively on this forum. In the end, he removed the intake in disgust.

It's pathetic, really. Injen was explicitly provided with the exact problem, and exact cause of the problem, that CAIs produce on an NA Impreza and they chose to ignore the data and then released a bad product.

On our cars, aftermarket intakes must be followed up with a tune.
Don't expect to bolt it on and call it a day.
