Default Boost problems with VF34

Hey guys,

I have a weird problem going on, I have an 02' Rex mods are below
Wiesco Pistons
TGV deletes
mild port and polished heads
match ported intake
Unequal header
3" tbe
light wheel
VF34
BC valve springs
SS over sized valves
HKS SSQ
Silly cone hoses
stock air box with drop in
stock tmic
Cobb VF34 ots map

The trouble I am having is the turd bow drops boost at 6200 rpm in every gear, I am not getting a ping or any knocks. I hit 17-18 psi up to about 6000 and then boom the gate dumps and I drop to like 8.8 psi. I dont see any issues and I just had the engine out to reseal a case bolt. Also I am running the stock TD04 pill and a ixiz ebc set up for stock bleed off. Any ideas??

The boost just shuts down at 6200 like right now, it isnt like a taper but like the gate just opens and that's it. I was reading another post that he was having in issue with his inlet collapsing. I am running the same inlet, GPmoto *insert flame here* I haven't had an issue with it before and I can still hit redline with out an issue. I just drop boost for some reason. I live in Montana so there are no tuners in the area. I am going to try and do a data log and submit it to romraiders and maybe some here that would be interested in helping me out. Thanks for the post.

Post a log - I'd log the following:
IAM
RPM
FLKC
FBKC
MAF Voltage
MAF g/sec
PSI (Corrected)
Wideband if you have it
TPS
Injector Duty Cycle

I may be missing some too, but these may help.

Are you sure it is the wastegate opening? Have you tried a boost leak test? I had something similar happen to me and I was convinced it was electronic. The culprit: a leaky BOV seal. Made boost just fine until 6,250 rpm.

I could not hear the "hissing/whistling" you normally hear with a leak, so give it a shot. Hope you get it figured out.

Thanks you guys for the suggestions, I haven't had time to do a log yet. Had to rebuild the rear diff in the wife's Expedition this weekend and we are heading out for Seattle for a vacation this week. I'll repost when I get the log done. I am not sure it is a waste gate issue for sure yet, I cant hear and thing from the BOV that sounds weird but I will triple check that. The odd thing is it is consistent in every gear almost like it is the puter doing the dumping. Just don't know....

What injectors do you have? I don't see any bigger ones listed. Might be hitting the limit of stock injectors if that is what you have.

Ya I do have a walbro in there as well, I brain fart sometimes when I list my mods... I found out though it was my POS ebay special intake hose causing the issues. I picked up an AVO from a guy on the site at a good price, popped it on and wala no more dropped boost at 6200. Now gotta save up for a tune, running a Cobb OTS map, and I'll be good to go.
