Default Youtune Turbo Kit 2007 Impreza

What do you guys think?

And this is not my build I found the vid on Youtube

And please read the responses that the video maker submitted

"turned the FPR up and down to get in the 14's and 13's under boost"

This kit isn't tuned at all the FPR has just been adjusted sooooooo what about no/low boost ??? I can't say I would run it but hey a little more R&D and they can compete with AVO

meh, why is there a FMU? Why is the MAF before the turbo instead of after... you can tune the **** outta these cars, doesn't make sense to me? Why is part of the intercooler covered by the bumper. Looks like it still has stock injectors, I mean the stock brackets are still on and everything around it looks perfect. It looks like they tried, but they went to fast on that project.

the turbine is audible.. it doesn't spool that hard revving like that on a lower pressure system. It is more audible when you are driving and it's spooling through the range.

LOL i found it on YOUTube I gonna say that the owner doesn't know much about the total steps needed to turbo a Ej253 and teh Stock injectors can handle 4.5 psi so that isnt a problem. The MAF situation he will figure out I hope. funny part is it is a "kit"

Anybody else notice how he recycled the stock mid pipe to make the UP?? Also it is still hooked to the stock N/A EL manifold so it is going to sound just as rice-tas-tic as before the turbo

That car sounds TERRIBLE... and when you are boosting a car, the N/A UEL vs EL debate doesn't quite matter as much. Plenty of power can be made with UEL, remember the WRX and STI come with UEL

The losses of the UEL are made up with the turbo

And that car sounds like ****

EL still nets big gains over UEL for turbo, too.

Well, I never actually listened to the car, so let me take a listen...

Yeah, definitely not as smooth as a stock EL turbo. But, the camera is ****ty and I'd rather hear it driving away. Slapping a resonator in there would probably help.

I didn't say the EL won't make bigger gains.. I said it's not quite as important. 100's of subaru's are making 400 crank HP with UEL and sounding sexy doing it. That's the one thing I miss about my 2 2.5 RS' the most, is the UEL sound. Unless I was building a race car I would never put EL headers on a turbo subaru. There is no need to all out scape for a few HP here or there with FI cars.

Yeah the people concerned with power and BIG power at that are the EL crowd if my subie put down 300 to the wheels on a cast iron stocker im happy with that if you want the max spool and trq and pwr then get some Perrins its not liek you can use 500+whp daily to and from work
