Hey it's my subie damn it. don't insult it, we have a special relationship.

It breaks, I learn to fix it.

Next step: Thermostat or Headgasket, simple stuff but damn the Quadcam. Makes me wish I had an 00+ EJ25, can just pull head off easy peasy.

Forresters got it lucky too, so much space. May just pull the damn EJ25 for more space then pull out everything else lol.

Pshhh, DOHC isn't awesome when you have to pull the heads. .

I'm going to do it, but only when I have a good second car, since it'd def take a week or two. Exhaust is the easy part.

I think it may be a thermostat though, if it is: HAHAHAH I CHEATED THE HEADGASKET.
If not, I'd replace radiator. If not that either.
Then waterpump, if that doesn't work, well then.
Time for headgasket and Quadcam phun.
But P.O. said he had them changed, so we'll see.

Also will throw in a new oil pump and other misc stuff. If I'm digging into the subie I'm going to throw on tons of new sensors and stuff so I don't have to touch the engine.

I alrdy played with the transmission so eh no big deal. Just might as well pull the damn engine then play with it in the car (though I can) it's just realigning the cams when you have like 3" of space = ugggggggggggh.

Wow, you'd rather stick with your 2.5L and go to sohc heads so you can change HG's easy, than just go with a DOHC something not 2.5L and not have HG issues.

I'm just being mean :P I've played with lots of DOHC's now, it's really not hard. Just remember to mark your shims and buckets so you know where they go when they fall out. I had a mate who didn't so we had to re-do all the clearances and ****. My build we just marked them and put them back in order, and all checked out alright.

It still amazes me the amount of money and effort you guy's pour into N/A's. If i had a DOHC 2.5 N/A with problems, i'd turf it and chuck something else in...

...In fact i've done just that, I chucked a 22E into a 250T (Was just a fix'n'flic, 22E's are as reliable as they come, and only $400 from the local wreckers at my spethal price).

A 25D DOHC SOHC? is that really what i said?

I must have been drinking too many metalicaloxide salts.

My mates brother had a 250T, which comes with the EJ25D. It blew an HG, surprise surprise. Knowing how **** 2.5's are, we chucked a EJ22E in the engine bay. Apparently it drives better. Who'd'a'thunk.
