Default time to play name that exhaust noise

had a moment at a track day this weekend. I ended up in a big mud puddle... or should I say, the big mud puddle wanted a ride IN my car.

suffice to say, I have a noise now under the car from the exhaust. Happens in any gear from 4K+ rpm lifting off the gas completely, seems to be a rattle/hiss So I'm guessing this is an exhaust leak of some sort? Only happens when it's loaded by the engine, noise is not audible when reving freely.

If it rattles more with the gas off, it might not even be the exaust. You could have stuck a rock or something around the exhaust piping / heat shield area... Did you thoroughly wash the underbody of the car after your puddle bath? Maybe something just got loose...

My guess is also a stuck rock or a built up of dirt somewhere that's rattling. Get the undercarriage of the car washed and see if that changes anything.

This is probably the case. In the winters if I drive through a lot of deep snow my exhaust will sound terrible becasue the snow gets packed around the pipes. But as soon as it melts off its fine. Probably just something stuck somewhere under there.

Check your carrier bearing on your driveshaft might have something rattling on that
