Question Rally-X at Maine Forest Rally

Is anyone else going to be doing it? I've emailed and also tried calling Richard about it, but I haven't gotten any sort of responses back. I really want to do it but need to know a few things.

1. What time on Sunday is it running?
2. Where in Bethel is it being held?
3. What's the cost?
4. What are the guidlines for classes?
5. Do I have to be a NER/SCCA member?

If anyone has more information then what's listed on the MFR website, please let me know. Thanks.

-Mike

Mike,

I'll try and answer some of your questions.

1.) Usually butt early like any other event. Probably around 8 ish.

2.) I believe this will be held at Pooh Corner Farm, in this guy's front yard. It's probably 10-20 minutes away from Bethel on Rt. 2 West.

3.) Cost will probably be $20-30.

4.) Classes are:
-FWD Stock
-FWD modified
-RWD stock
-RWD modified
-Trucks
-AWD stock
-AWD modified

or something similar to the above.

5.) No, you don't have to be an SCCA member.

Is there any sort of sign-up list?? I would like to make sure I can run. Also, could 2 people run the same car (read: Can I drive my car, and then my friend drive my car?)

Thanks!

There is no sign up list or registration yet. Keep your eye on this site here: http://www.cumberlandmotorclub.com/rallys.htm

And yes, you can have co-drivers.

You mean dual-drivers. If you need a co-driver for a rally-x then you're really in trouble.

Excuse me, but I don't believe this is the "post-whoring" thread... but I guess it's open now!

Do you think the Car Rental Place in New Jersey will mind me entering in their car

Talking to Shane of Tony Chavez' team (Texaco sponsored GTi) last year at STPR, and he told me stories of auto-x's and rally-x'sout there in AZ where guys would rent Neon's and auto-x and rally-x them, go to a car wash, clean them, pop the hubcaps back on, and return the cars!!!

Hey, for $30 you get to thrash around in someone else's car! How can you go wrong???

Actually, out here in California and Nevada, people use Rentals (Usually Neons) for Auto-X, Rally-X and Track Days!

It's quite common and quite fun!
