Default 05 2.5L Rusty Fuel Lines under Intake Manifold, really weird, looking for tips. Pics

2005 with 45K.

This is on my Saab 9-2x, which if you dont know is just a rebadged Impreza wagon. They come with the standard 2.5l n/a or turbo 2.0 (2.5 in 06)

It lived the first five years of its life in the NJ area.
This is the only real "rust" in the engine bay.
The rest of the car was pretty clean, a little surface rust underneath but nothing bad. Some very minor surface rust on some of the hardware in the engine bay which cleaned up no problem.

So.. what do you guys think about this line? Its going to be a real pain in the ass to replace. I'm not sure if pulling the intake manifold off would be the way to go or if I can get to it taking off the alternator. Anyone have any tips for pulling the Manifold? Pretty straight forward? Any of the hardware one time use?

I was quoted three hours of labor, plus parts. I'm not going to spend $that much on this.

So I ordered the lines, intake manifold gaskets, bolts, fuel hose and clamps (all in all less than $75 shipped, Jackie at Annapolis Subaru FTW)

My dad is coming into town next week, he has a lot of experience with these 2.5 n/a engines so we are going to tackle it then, no one stays for free right?

I plan on daily driving this car for the next 5 years, so this needs to be changed.

The circle is where I put the camera, lense pointing to the right.

The big fuse is part of the Big Three Upgrade kit, looks stupid but oh well.
And I didnt order the blue plug wires on purpose, its the only color the NGKs come in

Pics of the whole car for the hellva it.

Clean car! haha wow, looks great. I don't know if I would be overly concerned with those though, it does look strange but I'm sure driving it for the next 5 days will be just fine. If you have the parts in hand too not a bad idea to replace them.

Damn, I live in NJ and I do not even think any of my under engine parts are that bad.

Meh. Looks like surface rust to me. If I were you and I was really worried about it, I'd pull the intake manifold, remove the lines, sand off the rust, and spray them with Rustoleum in the color of your choice, then reinstall. But I guess you've already ordered the lines, so...

Oh, and someone stole the center caps off your wheels.

Yea, new parts on the way.
I'm going to spray the new lines with some engine enamel pre-install.

The center caps that came with those wheels dont sit flush, they stick out and look like ass. I want to find some flush fitting caps and get some liquidome Saab overlays, I just have to do some homework to find some caps.
