Default Killer B Motorsport HOLY HEADER Group Buy

The Killer B Motorsport Holy Header

Features include:

Short Equal Length Primaries. The shortest possible length primaries you can have on an Equal Length header. Short means quick spool up.

Symmetrical Primary Design. All primaries have a similar tube length AND the same bend geometry. This keeps the pulse energy and velocities VERY similar when entering the merge.

Smooth Large Mandrel Bends. All of the bends utilize a mandrel for smooth non-restrictive flow. Not only that, we use the largest bends possible at every location. It would be cheaper to use 2” bends everywhere like others do, but that’s not going to give the best performance.

321 Stainless steel construction. 321 is alloyed with titanium, costs more, a lot more, but it’s the ideal material for high temperature turbocharged applications. Would 304 stainless work, yes, but the temperatures on our turbocharged cars can exceed the limits of 304 stainless possibly enough to make them brittle and crack. 321 has higher strength and toughness at elevated temperatures.

V-Band Up-Pipe Connection. Why V-Band? Fast, easy and no gasket, what’s not to like!

Up-Pipe included. Of course it comes with an Up-Pipe!

Weights 18 pounds (vs. OEM weights 25 pounds)

Works with OEM EJ25 Oil Pans and Killer B Motorsport Oil Pan

Made in the USA and Killer B quality!

Full Retail: $1,490

Here’s how the group buy will work… To get into the group buy you need to make a minimum 50% deposit to get onto the list. Once 5 people have sent payment the order goes to manufacturing. It will take 3-4 weeks for manufacturing from that point and the headers will ship on a first pay-in-full, first ship basis. If you pay in full up front you’ll be higher up on the list. If you pay the 50% deposit, you pay the remainder once the headers are completed and ready to ship. If you choose the Swaintec Thermal Coating there will be an additional 2+ weeks for application and processing the coating.

All prices include shipping in the continental USA. If you are outside the continental USA please contact me for a shipping quote.

5-9 $1375 Shipped
5-9 With Swaintec Coating $1663

10+ $1315 Shipped
10+ With Swaintec Coating $1558 Shipped

Looks like it's located in the bend before the v-band uppipe connection. Did you even look at the pictures?

Or that could be the front O2 sensor bung, in which case my doucheyness is unwarranted.

We can add an EGT bung no problem.

Will there be added charges? So this will be oem fitment as far as how the turbo sits on the uppipe?

In the future will you make other uppipes to accommodate rotated setups? So you we could continue to use this header but just switch out the uppipe.

The piece of 321SS you'll include for an EWG, will it have a V-Band flange to mate it to your header and will it be appropriate length, or is it just a piece of tubing?

Yes, there will be a charge for an EGT bung, I'll get pricing tonight.

Yes, this system is for OEM turbo location. We may do a rotated setup in the future if there is enough demand for one.

Looks like a great design. Reminds me of the new turbo manifold the 2010+ legacy's have with the exception of the turbo placement.

I don't see any flex sections or expansion joints. Is this thing going to last long? withstand cracking? seems like you have great engineering everywhere else in it... what about heat cycle stresses?

Cant wait to see some dyno charts. It looks gorgeous guys.

Just a few comments... someone already mentioned the lack of flex or expansion joints. How long did you guys test this and at what power levels?

I still dont get where and how the ewg comes into play.

Again awesome job

What specifically do you want to see? I think every picture I've got, including the prototype stuff, is in THIS ALBUM. Let me know if there's something else you'd like to see.

Thanks! I heard that a few times at the Wicked Big Meet too, but I've personally never been under one of the new LGTs.

You can see power gains vs. the GPMoto (Invidia) EL that was in the car HERE. <-- This thread follows the prototype development with dyno plot and datalogs. Full boost at 3,100RPMs and it pulls hard to redline. In fact I've bounced off the rev limited several times since it's been on the car and I've never done that before, there was just no power up that high in the revs before.

You Aircraft folks should be familiar with 321SS since it was developed by your industry... Specifically to prevent exhaust manifolds from cracking when turbocharged. Higher hot strength and the general layout of the design seem to lend themselves to generally low stress levels when thermally cycled (according to the simulations). The long single secondary has a fairly even stress distribution with no funky stress concentrations. Even if 304 were used I think the stresses are fairly consistent to not need a flex section. With 321 being used, I'm not concerned at all.

Thanks... check out the link above to see the prototype info/charts.

The hack-n-tack prototype is on my car and has been there for a few months. The market for this system is OEM location turbos and the design should easily support anything out there. If anyone considering this system were going to be using an ALS I would recommend changing the material to inconel.

EWGs are not being made on this batch, but a few customers are going to have thier local shop do the mod.

I will offer my thoughts on this, as I'm sure I view it at a different angle than KillerB. It's meant to be constructive criticism. Without a doubt, I see this as the most BA, thought out, quality engineered header, but I see some drawbacks.

1. EL design - it alienates the UEL crowd. Some people will never give up the rumble, regardless of any advantages that EL or twin scroll offers.

2. V-band header to up pipe flange - this seems awesome on the first pass, but it limits users to a stock location turbo. If someone has the hopes of one day running a rotated setup, even if it's a crazy dream, this header seems dicey. It will requires some modification to get a rotated up pipe to work with the header.

3. EWG option - no EWG flanges on the first batch. Also, to pay big money and yet still have to take it to a local shop to weld on the EWG pipe, which requires more money, is _______. I can't think of the right word. If I shell out this much money, I would expect it to arrive done and not require more work. Moreover, if you want to get the coating as well, you'd have to order it, take it to a shop for the EWG, ship it to Swaintec, and finally it's ready. That might take a month, and some people are in a hurry to finish their build.

4. Price - most people are on a budget. To spend more on this means less parts elsewhere, or maybe they have to save up for awhile.
